Appreciation towards Waterfrom Design for providing the following description:

单色画「从线开始」（From Line）的系列作品，是艺术家李禹焕（Lee Ufan）在笔触、留白至重覆行为的冥想论证，对于回归自然、绘画基本元素与东方禅思的剖析，如艺术家为作品的注解：「静寂的回响」般令人玩味。若为住宅回归至「静寂」之美，将空间设计降至最低限，让自然质地发声，演绎有机材料经拆解重组后的直观体验。最低限度的线、形构图，以素净色彩与肌理质感，回归至质朴无华的简约基调，为空间写下自然静寂的“约略性质”美学概念。

The monochromatic painting “From Line” reveals demonstration of brush stroke, blank-leaving, and repetition from artist Lee Ufan. It is Lee’s analysis of going back to nature, the basic elements of painting, and reflections on Zen as his annotation: “Quiet echo.” In a house, designers tried to go back to the “Quietness”, minimizing spatial design, and letting natural texture speak for itself, creating an intuitive experience through the deconstruction and reconstruction of organic materials. Lines and shapes are used at the bare minimum, simple colors and textures are used to create a rustic and simple tone. The aesthetic concept of “approximate properties” creates a natural and quiet space in this project.

空间理性 | Rationality

如李禹焕所言：「水平轴所表达的意象，就是无限延伸的虚空。」在空间使用大量线性比例，随中岛线形灯具排列延伸至块面的墙体格屏，From Line画作线条转化为实木与金属，堆叠出空间的理性延伸构图。在细节处，以金属、冲孔板组合成的线性灯具，则如漂浮般，随开放的家俬蔓延出无界限的空间；嵌于墙体的木条，为端面雕凿独有导角与纹理，细腻的律动起伏，精致成一幅会呼吸的有机平面。

In the words of Lee Ufan: “The image conveyed by a horizontal axis is an infinite void.” Linear proportions are extensively utilized in the space; and the linear arrangement of lamps along the kitchen island extends to the wall. Designers transform lines into solid wood and metal, building up a rational extension of the space. Taking a closer look, the linear lamps made from punching metal plates seem to float around and create a boundless space together with the furniture. Wooden strips embedded into the wall form unique angles and patterns, as if an organic facade that breathes with rhythm.

空间感知 | Sensibility

将空间纯化去色，保有木、石质材的原貌，运用中性色调如大面柜体的矿石漆、灰白色调手感漆料与手刷木纹背墙，同花岗岩原石、电视墙基座石材和不同水区的橡木质地板，为空间敷彩出淡雅质朴的量体层次。精巧地为中岛妆点置入一座原石桌脚，反应自然媒材最直接的应证赋题，感性地传达「back to nature」主题。

The simple space is removed of color and retains the original appearance of wood and stone. Neutral color tones, such as the mineral colored paint on the large cabinet, grayish white paint and hand-painted wooden pattern walls, along with the stone base of the television wall and the oak floor create simple and elegant spatial layers. The ingenious use of granite legs for the kitchen island is a direct reflection on natural materials, sensibly communicating the theme “Back to nature.”
