Büro Ole Scheeren is an international firm that practices architecture, urbanism, interior design, and research.

Our work ranges from city-defining structures and innovative urban prototypes to carefully crafted cultural buildings, with projects across Asia, Europe and North America.

We have recently completed the Guardian Art Center in Beijing, DUO in Singapore, and MahaNakhon in Bangkok; our current developments include, amongst others, 1515 Alberni and Barclay Village in Vancouver, Riverpark Tower – an innovative adaptive re-use in Frankfurt, Empire City – a high-rise complex in Ho Chi Minh City, the ZTE Headquarters in Shenzhen and Wuliang Interstice in Yibin.

For our Beijing team, we are looking for a Senior Architectural Designer to be part of a talented team on a high-profile architectural commission through all design stages from concept through construction.

Responsible for overseeing a main part of this complex mixed-use project, you will have a strong understanding of both architectural design development and project management, to successfully lead part of the entire process of realizing an ambitious and innovative architectural concept into built reality true to design intent.

You will represent and communicate the project both internally and externally with a strong sensitivity to our design approach and with a sense of technical proficiency. You will be closely communicating with the Client and all consultants, and ensure clarity throughout the design and construction processes.

Qualifications:
• You have an excellent academic background with a Master in Architecture or equivalent.
• Your track record encompasses at least 8 years post-qualification in-depth involvement in design-led, complex, medium-to-large-scale mixed-use projects through all stages of design and construction, with emphasis of senior-level involvement in the realization of one or more High-rises.
• You have worked in an internationally or nationally acclaimed architectural firm, and paired architectural design sensitivity with technical and managerial knowledge, and are able to communicate design and experience precisely and comprehensibly.

We are looking for an experienced Architectural Designer specialized in Cultural Tourism projects to join our Beijing Office. Your role will range from the research and conceptualization to the design development of high-profile Cultural Tourism related projects in spectacular settings –from the Master-planning of Nature-based Resorts and Culture-themed Villages to the Architectural design of Hotels, Villas, Experience Centers, Museums, Workshops, Retail Pavilions, Communal Amenities to Spiritual Spaces in such contexts, through all design stages from concept through construction.

You will have a strong understanding of both architectural design development and project management. You will represent and communicate the project both internally and externally with a strong sensitivity to our design approach. We are currently offering full-time Architectural Internships. We are looking for talented students or recent graduates who are enthusiastic and seek experience in a thought-provoking environment. Candidates are expected to participate in multiple aspects of the project process, including presentations, submission packages, digital and physical study models.

Internships are typically offered for a period of 6-12 months.

Minimum requirements:
• Enrollment in a degree program for architecture, landscape architecture or interior design.
• Strong graphic, image-making and design talent.
• Excellent digital model-making skills.
• Excellent AutoCAD, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills.
• Fluency in spoken English.
• Strong ability in Maya and Grasshopper is a plus.
• Strong ability in Premiere and After Effects is a plus.
• Strong ability in sustainability is a plus. This includes, knowledge of sustainability principles, understanding of climate data, and use of Ladybug for analysis in performance-driven design.
• Strong ability in physical model-making for in-house study models is a plus. This includes, understanding of workflow from 3d digital model to 3d printing, ability to combine precision-cut outsourced parts for final assembly, use of inventive materials and model photography.

We are looking for experienced Interior Designers with strong experiences in Workplace or Hospitality to join our growing Interiors team in our Beijing Office with an emphasis of working on and delivering design and drawing packages for high-profile interiors that will be part of and highly integrated with architectures designed also by our office.

Qualifications:
• Passionate about interior design, and have the ability to conceive, translate and deduce vivid architectural design concepts into fascinating interior spaces.
• Familiar with and understand the indoor material process nodes and FF&E, and deepen them into comprehensive and detailed results for construction.
• At least 4 years of work experience after graduation is preferred and deeply involved in large and medium-sized office, and large-scale hotel projects, and successfully delivered drawings that exceed the level of conceptual design.
• Worked in well-known international architecture firms and interior design companies, with a keen architectural and interior design vision, professional and aesthetic knowledge and abilities, and can accurately and comprehensively convey design and space experience.
• Adapt to the high-pressure working environment, with outstanding time management and job delivery capabilities. Responsible for the work and with passion, and understand Eastern and Western cultures and traditions.
• Proficient in Rhino, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe CS is preferred. Fluent in English, those who can communicate proficiently in Mandarin and English are preferred.

We are currently looking for talented Design Architects with a strong design and aesthetic understanding and command of complex geometries, and an ability to convincingly translate ideas and forms into digital and physical models, drawings, and visuals. Candidates should have project experience on mid- to large-scale projects in the concept and schematic design phases. Knowledge of technical principles and previous involvement in detailing stages is desirable.

You will join dedicated project teams to generate concept designs for projects of varying typologies and scales, and develop design directions for evaluation and testing against programmatic, aesthetic, and technical considerations.

Experience and knowledge:
Candidates should have at least 2-4 years post-graduate work experience in the development of high quality design concepts at internationally renowned architectural design firms. Expertise in Rhino, Maya and Grasshopper is essential. Candidates should possess clear communication skills, a systematic approach to design, and excellent graphic abilities.

Qualifications:
• Highly creative and unique design approach with strong aesthetic sensibilities.
• 2-4 years minimum post-graduate experience in concept designs in international design offices.
• Experience in multi-platform workflows, geometric optimization and fabrication processes for complex geometry and curvatures.
• Expertise with Grasshopper or other scripting language such as Python. Familiarity with Rhino Sub-D or Maya modeling.
• Strong and clear communication skills and a systematic approach to design.

Responsible for creating high-quality and practical residential unit layouts and amenities layouts, and innovative and beautiful exterior façade designs, you will have a strong understanding of architectural and spatial design for high-end residential typologies and a strong ability to integrate design with market needs and relevant building regulations. You will contribute your passion for excellence and a sense of rigor for Architectural Detailing, broad and up-to-date knowledge of Building Materials, and extensive experience in Construction Documentation stages, while sharing a true understanding for what we do as a studio.

Qualifications:
• You have an excellent academic background with a Master in Architecture, or equivalent.
• Your track record encompasses at least 8 years in-depth involvement in design-led, complex, medium-to-large-scale architectural projects of various scales through all stages of design.
• You have worked in an internationally acclaimed architectural firm, and have paired design sensitivity with technical knowledge, and are able to communicate design and experience precisely and comprehensibly.
• You have experience in all stages of design from Concept to Construction Administration, and in the delivery of Architecture, Façade and Interior packages.
• You have good knowledge of materials, products and construction methods, and their latest innovation and development, and the ability to maintain quality standards on the production of drawing and submission packages.
• You excel in a dynamic work environment, enjoy the responsibility of collaborating productively with design teams and consultants.
• You are literate in AutoCAD and Adobe CS, and ideally in Rhino and have the ability to communicate efficiently and clearly in hand-sketches; Knowledge in REVIT/BIM or Parametrically Generative Design a plus.
• Fluency in English; Bilingual (Mandarin) a plus.
