表彰在环境、社会与日常生活中持续产生真实价值的设计。Recognising design that continues to create real value for the environment, society and everyday life.一个设计完成之后,在环境、社会和日常生活中,留下了什么?What does a completed design leave behind in the environment, society and everyday life?
三个价值类别Three value categories
不按建筑类型或项目大小设奖。住宅、学校、医院、商业、公园和装置等,都可根据自身价值选择申报类别。Awards are not divided by building type or project size. Homes, schools, hospitals, commercial spaces, parks and installations can enter the categories that reflect their contribution.
Recognising responsibility for resources, energy, materials, ecology and climate throughout construction, use, maintenance and renewal. While meeting real needs, does the project reduce resource use and environmental burdens, or support ecological restoration and climate adaptation?Consider local resources and climate, and actual performance in construction, use and maintenance. Projects need not address every environmental issue.
Recognising real contributions to equitable access, public life, community relationships, participation and continuity of cultural life. Public value can also be created among a project’s direct users.Does the project improve the conditions for participation in public life, equitable use of space and social connection?Being open to everyone is only a starting point. Consider who actually participates and benefits, whether existing users can remain, and how local ways of life are respected.
Recognising improvements to everyday use, comfort, health, safety and dignity for direct users, including experiences of calm, enjoyment and belonging.Does the project sustain improvements in everyday experience, comfort and dignity through thoughtful spatial and design decisions?Consider the quality of space, light, materials and details in actual use. Specific accounts of experience can demonstrate value without forcing feelings into numerical measures.
