O Project Architect / Interior Designer (Team Leaders)

Report to: Design Principals / Studio Director

Overall management of project including design quality from design to finish, client satisfaction and project finances.

Job Descriptions
· Contribute to concept development for projects by producing design ideas and design direction which cohere to the AIM design language
· Guide team members to research and produce mood reference, visual materials and material samples
· Design and produce master plan, necessary studies, drawings and 3D models
· Delegate tasks, manage work efficiency and QC design quality among team throughout projects with particular attention to build feasibility, accuracy and well thought through details
· Lead & manage presentation deck preparation by determining the elements that need to be included and the standard of these elements
· Host and prepare for client meetings and design discussions
· Work with project manager and business manager to maintain precise communication with clients on schedule of deliverables, change of design programs and other important issues
· Provide design solutions to team members when technical/design issues occur
· Work closely with the project manager to ensure technical feasibility and cost viability of the design
· Manage build process and minor design revisions during build process to ensure design coherence and operational feasibility of the project
· Help cultivate and groom team members in terms of design and work efficiency
· Proactively reach out to clients to build relationship and ensure repeat business
· Participate and proactively reach out to AM to think about marketing opportunities for the involved projects

Requirements:
✔️Minimum BSc degree (or equivalent) in architecture design or interior design. Fluent in English and proficiency in Mandarin would be a bonus.
✔️Minimum 12 years of work experience and 3 of which in management or project leading positions in Asia/China.
✔️Familiar with the architecture and interior design industry practices in China. Possess at least 2 architecture project experiences from concept, design, construction to completion. On site experience is essential.
✔️Ability to conceptualize design ideas and materialize the ideas into detailed and professional drawings
✔️Possess good understanding of design principles and philosophies
✔️Possess a good sense of style, taste and beauty
✔️Well travelled and is in tune with the latest trends in the design world (all designs not just architectural design)
✔️Extremely organized with ability to multi-task under pressure
✔️Possess leadership and certain management skills
✔️Ability to present and articulate ideas and concepts passionately and professionally
✔️Curious, passionate about design, diligent with details and is a team player

O Interior Designer Position

Report to: Project Architect / Studio Director

Key Responsibilities
· Actively part take in concept brainstorming and discussion by contributing concept ideas, research materials and design studies
· Attend site visit, take measurements and produce CAD drawings if necessary in order to help project leaders to better understand the spatial arrangement
· Produce 3D models and relevant slides to help the compilation of concept presentations
· Help modify and improve 3D models during SD stage
· Produce accurate, professional and detailed design drawings for SD and DD packages.
· Help produce hand sketches when necessary
· Guide renderers to produce renderings to better present final designs
· Propose, source and prepare materials boards
· Work with suppliers to work out cost estimate for materials if necessary
· Prepare bidding documents according to CAD drawings if necessary
· Based on understanding and instruction of Project Architects and Design Principals, lead and manage physical model building process if necessary
· Inspect construction sites on a regular basis and answer basic build questions
· Provide design solutions and manage revision of drawings when technical, sourcing, regulatory and/or budgetary issues arise
· Help keep an eye on T1 designers on drawing quality and accuracy

Requirements:
✔️5+ years of work experience or display beyond-work-experience ability in concept AND drawings
✔️Ability to work independently
✔️Demonstration of maturity at work, ability to express oneself and ability to grasp concept/design narrative within AIM
✔️Good site experience (at least 2 built projects) or display of exceptional common sense on site
✔️Good command of both English and Chinese
✔️Excellent command of all important software i.e. SU, CAD, Rhino and Photoshop (a plus)
