Appreciation towards DA bureau for providing the following description:

在GRAIN餐厅项目开启之前，DA bureau设计团队就飞往叶卡捷琳堡进行现场勘查。项目团队成员之前都没有去过那里，因此，他们想让自己沉浸在城市的环境中，从内部去了解这座城市以及它的居民。

Before we started to work on the Grain restaurant project, we had ﬂown to Yekaterinburg. None of the project team members had been there before, so we wanted to immerse ourselves into the context of the city, understand what it looks like from the inside and, of course, get to know its inhabitants.

设计团队深受这次旅行的启发，并由此爱上了叶卡捷琳堡，同时也在与业主沟通的过程中，被Borisikhin兄弟为此项目而构想出的概念所浸染。旅程之后，设计团队满怀热情地回到圣彼得堡，致力于创造出一套独特的设计方案，来彰显出该项目的大气和真实。

We were very inspired by this trip, fell in love with Yekaterinburg and were imbued with the concept that the Borisikhin brothers planned to implement. We returned to St. Petersburg enthusiastic about making a unique design project, very atmospheric and authentic.

设计以场地区位为出发点，该场地坐落于一座面粉厂的原址上，场地内的部分历史建筑已经得到了保护与修复。餐厅、厨房和面包店的概念延伸了这条设计线索，并以有机的方式将这一主题体现在餐厅的室内设计中。

The starting point for the conception was the location – the territory of the former ﬂour mill, where part of the historical building was preserved and restored. The concept of the restaurant, kitchen & bakery, extends this line and the most organic decision on our part was to preserve the continuation of this theme in the interior.

设计灵感来自面包和面包周围的一切，包括：切割面包的木板，包裹面包的亚麻纺织品，甚至筛面粉的筛子。设计团队尽可能地选用了简单而温暖的材料，并试图利用这些材料为空间赋予活力，唤起人们对于家庭和童年的温暖联想。

When working on the project, our inspiration was bread and everything that surrounds it: wooden boards on which it is cut, linen textiles in which bread is wrapped, and sieves for sifting ﬂour. We used simple and warm materials in the project, which look alive in the space and evoke warm associations with home and childhood.

当成员们第一次到达现场时，他们立即爱上了建筑内明亮的空间氛围以及它自然而简单的美。因此，他们决定保留建筑原始的混凝土外墙，并尽可能地使其变得更加干净与开放。此外，设计团队还为该空间增添了一系列混凝土隔墙，还原出曾经坐落于此的混凝土升降梯的形状。

When we arrived at the site for the ﬁrst time, we immediately fell in love with the lighting of the space and its natural, simple beauty. We decided to leave the concrete shell in the same state as we got it from the developer – as clean and open as possible. In addition, we emphasised it with a massive concrete bar, which resembles the shape of a concrete elevator that was previously located in this area.

空间里所有的家具都采用了木制，并以强大的功能性为特点。餐桌看起来像厨房中的案板；分隔空间的不规则隔板如同筛面粉的筛子；而天花板上的织物装饰与窗帘则代表了因包裹面包而沾满面粉的亚麻布。最后，盛放着亮蓝色糖浆的特制烧瓶悬吊在空中，成为了独特的点缀，让人不禁联想起用来浸泡朗姆酒甜点的器皿。

All the furniture in the space is wooden and functional: the tables look like kitchen boards; erratic partitions dividing the space are like a sieve through which ﬂour is sifted; the scraps of fabric on the ceiling and the curtains refer to the ﬂour-soaked linen in which the bread is wrapped. The ﬁnal touch was created by unusual ﬂasks with bright blue syrup, reminiscent of the ﬂasks used to soak the rum baba dessert.

简洁干净的混凝土外壳下，包裹着一个充满舒适、温暖和愉悦感觉的餐厅空间，这样的结合让人们联想到曾经的混凝土升降梯以及它带来的粗糙工业美学，那里曾储存着粮食，面包也是从那里开始。

Thus, we got a concrete shell ﬁlled with comfort, warmth, and pleasant sensations. Such a union refers us to the aesthetics of crude industrial elevators, where the very grain is stored, from which the bread begins.
