Weekday Studio与建筑师J. Byron-H共同为洛杉矶的Color Camp美甲店打造了室内空间。这个面积为675平方英尺的空间坐落于Fairfax区的贝弗利大街,这样的空间在洛杉矶可谓绝无仅有。
Weekday Studio teamed up with Architect J. Byron-H to create the interior design concept for Color Camp, a new manicure bar in Los Angeles, California. Located on Beverly Boulevard in the Fairfax District, this 675 square-foot space is the first of its kind in Los Angeles.

设计师希望摒除当下美甲店常有的喧杂环境,转而唤起一种充满探索与乐趣的氛围。大胆的线条使明亮的白色空间更富有生气;圆形、半圆形、凹面与凸面不时穿插在长凳、桌子、置物架、大门以及标识之间。带有装饰的倾斜墙壁和定制的亮蓝色家具带来活泼缤纷的色彩,混凝土和金属等工业材料与渐变的粉色、橙色及蓝色相映成趣:在洛杉矶,建筑的的粗糙质感和城市耀眼的天空往往也会产生这样的对比。
The designers wanted to evoke a sense of and avoid the predictable, cluttered environment often associated with contemporary nail salons. Instead, a bright white space is enlivened with bold shapes. Circles, semi-circles, concave and convex shapes play across bolsters, tables, shelving, doorways and branding. A gradient mural wall and custom bright blue furnishings bring pop accents of color. Industrial materials like concrete and steel are cushioned by a vibrant gradient of pinks, oranges and blues, a contrast found throughout LA whenever the roughness of the city’s structures finds relief against its brilliant skies.

Weekday studio developed a modular menu system that showcases the various types of lacquers, color choices, and nail art options all in one place. Original, 3D printed, magnetic molds were made to be interchangeable and transition with the seasons alternating trends. It was a priority to demystify the pricing structure and establish one that is transparent, clear, and consistent.

品牌形象 Brand Identity

Color Camp was looking to become the leading manicure bar and it needed a brand identity that would support that objective. Weekday Studio started the project by taking a deep dive into understanding Color Camp’s short- and long-term business and marketing goals. The initial assumptions were that the designer themselves just might be the target audience. Just after the initial meetings, this was quickly confirmed and they rejoiced at the opportunity to design something for themselves and a space that they would become regulars at.

Color Camp’s short term goal was to open their first location in West Hollywood while being strategic with their long term goals of opening up multiple locations spread across the entire country. Once the designers understood both scopes of this, they set off to design a brand that would be trendy (but not narrow), timeless, and translatable. The designers created a bespoke logo made from circles and squares inspired by geometric nail art. The ombre color palette was drawn from the beautiful LA sunsets. For the launch campaign, the designer showcased the unique styles (and nail preferences) of diverse women, each in their own way representing the quintessential LA cool girl. A website was designed which makes it easy for users to book an appointment, learn about Color Camp’s services, and walk away with an understanding of Color Camp’s uniqueness.
