成都北部的彭州，紧邻龙门山，是川西平原蔬菜核心产区，也是中国西部最大的蔬菜交易中心。在乡伴文旅的牵头下，原来的蔬菜生产与交易中心，逐步变身为蔬香博览园，由生产业转向文旅服务业。

Pengzhou, north of Chengdu, close to Longmen Mountain, is the core vegetable producing area of the Chengdu Plain and the largest vegetable trading center in western China. Under the leadership of Xiangban Cultural Tourism, the original vegetable production and trading center has gradually turned into a Vegetable Fragrance Expo Garden, shifting from production to cultural tourism services.

初到彭州中国蔬菜博览园，见到的是大片的蔬菜中转仓库和自然状态的菜地。项目用地又紧邻国道，界面如同中国任何一座普通小镇的边缘。而项目场地周边，田野连片，林木成簇，周边的村庄聚落是成都平原最典型的林盘，这一富有地域特点的形式。如何让建筑尽量回应当地的文化特点，并充分的尊重且融入场地，是设计的起源。

When you first arrive at Pengzhou’s Chinese Vegetable Expo Garden, you will find a large area of vegetable transit warehouses and vegetable fields in a natural state. The location of the project is also near the national highway, with the interface like the edge of any common town in China. Contiguous fields and clusters of trees surround the project, and the surrounding village settlement is the most typical forest pans in Chengdu Plain, which is full of regional characteristics. How to make the building echo the local cultural characteristics as much as possible, and fully respect and integrate into the site, is the origin of the design.

场地由原来的宅基地腾退，本身并不规则，且场地中央有一簇原生的茂密的竹林。在设计的最开始，我们便尝试保留这片恰到好处的竹林，并以竹林为中心，将功能空间围绕其布置。在最初的构想中，我们试图以最传统的木结构撑起一座大屋面，屋面下的灰空间与竹林区域流动且交融，这一构想最终在业主的支持下被贯彻到整个设计过程中。整体建筑采用轻量化的菠萝格的钢木结构体系+小青瓦屋面，整体形式由川西的木梁架民居所演变而来，并将四川民居独特的院坝空间融入空间组织中，其充分融入了田野林盘的自然环境，表达了对场地的尊重和对生态可持续建造的回应。

The site itself is not very regular, and there is a cluster of prestine dense bamboo forests in the center of the site. At the very beginning of the design, we tried to keep this bamboo forest just right, and arranged the functional spaces around it as the center. In the initial idea, we tried to use the most traditional wooden structure to support a large roof to make the transition space under the roof flowed and blended with the bamboo forest area. This idea was finally implemented throughout the design process with the support of the owner. The overall building employs a lightweight pineapple frame steel and wood system with a mall blue tile roof. The whole form of the building is evolved from the wooden beam frame houses in western Sichuan, and the unique courtyard space of Sichuan houses is integrated into the organization of the space, which fully merged into the natural environment of the fields and forests, expressing the respect for the site and the responding to the eco-sustainable construction.

在炎热多雨的四川盆地，遮荫挡雨的木结构大顶棚下，是开敞而自由的室外灰空间，场地的任何一处都能感受自然的气息，人们可以随心所欲地穿梭在室内与室外。包间，茶室，书吧等几组功能沿屋面下方布置，顶部天然形成了二层的公共大阳台，为四川特有的“坝坝茶”提供了一个绝佳的场所。而实际运营中，这一空间也如同我们的设想，或休憩，或闲谈的茶客们在高处眺望田野，追寻阳光和微风，好不热闹。

In the hot and rainy Sichuan Basin, under the large wooden ceiling that provides shade and protection from the rain, there is an open and free outdoor transition space, where the natural atmosphere can be felt at anywhere of the site, and people can move between indoors and outdoors as they wish. Private rooms, tea rooms, book bars and other groups of functions are arranged along the underside of the ceiling, and a large public balcony on the second floor is naturally formed on the top, which provides an excellent place for Sichuan’s unique “Baba Tea”. In actual operation, this space is just as we imagined it to be: guests resting or chatting while looking at the fields from a high place, chasing the sunshine and the breeze, so lively.

功能布局上，四个独立的空间被我们拆解，整个建筑与四周环境没有明显的界限。在功能与功能之间，是层次丰富的连廊，开放平台和灰空间。这些开放空间相互交融，在屋面的遮蔽下下与院中的竹林交织在一起，林和院相互渗透，屋在田里，林在院中。

In terms of functional layout, four independent spaces have been split, and there is no clear boundary between the whole building and the surrounding environment. Between the functions are multi-layered corridors, open platforms and transition spaces. These open spaces are blended with each other, and under the shade of the roof, they are intertwined with the bamboo forest in the courtyard, and intertwined with the bamboo forest in the courtyard. Forest and courtyard are permeated with each other, the house is in the field and the forest is in the courtyard.

东侧朝向大片田野的界面，我们用自然的竹子+玻璃插入小体量的盒子，让其有有更强的通透感，而室内的每一个角度都能在眺望田野，晚霞，感受蔬菜博览园的自然景观。从西侧的竹林外望去，木柱与大屋顶掩映在竹林间。而在田间眺望建筑，弧形屋面的横向线条给人以松弛感和亲切感，勾勒出和起伏的地平线相得益彰的优雅天际轮廓。消解了大体量屋顶在自然环境中的不适，轻盈的木材与林盘有机共生。

On the east side, where facing the large field,we use natural bamboo with glass inserted into the small volume of the box to make it a stronger sense of transparency. From every angle of the room, you can look out over the fields, the sunset, and feel the natural landscape of the Vegetable Expo Garden. From the bamboo forest on the west side, you can see wooden pillars and a large roof hidden in the forest. While looking at the building from the field, the horizontal lines of the curved roof give a sense of relaxation and closeness, outlining an elegant skyline that matches the undulating horizon. The dismatch of large volume roofs in the natural environment has been resolved, and the lightweight wood and the woodland are organically coexisting.
