Mut dazzles once more the ceramic tile market thanks to an unexpected design. This time round it is a line called SCALES, an extremely bright alternative to conventional ceramic tiling that will surprise even the most trail-blazing.

By means of a simple but radically modern design, Mut creates a brand new wall-covering inspired by nature. In this occasion fish scales, with that special reflective quality of theirs, have become the main inspiration for the renowned Spanish studio. Those little lightning-bolts we sometimes happen to see in shallow waters make the brand’s new pieces of tiling all the more attractive.

With SCALES, Mut seeks to imitate the feeling of vibrating movement transmitted by the sheeny skin of fishes when they ripple under water. The color on the rear side tinges the white smooth surface of every piece once they get together. And that’s SCALES! When assembled, the pieces suddenly make the optical miracle happen: some of them naturally irradiate colorful sparkles over the others, thus dying their former white epidermis.

SCALES is the brand new ceramic tiling by Mut. A solution admitting multiple compositions, as many as spaces we can possibly imagine. This time the palette goes for the neon; after the booming of the 80’s, these bold colors are now back and better than ever in the world of fashion and also, why not, in decorative elements.

This new project stems from the partnership between MUT and HARMONY, a brand belonging to PERONDA. This company, settled in Castellón, has been dedicated to producing ceramic ware for more than a half century. Each of the pieces included in SCALES collection is provided in a unique format of 20 x 20 and, as customary, they’re 100% manufactured in Spain.
