The Pignic Cafe, a place where people can interact with miniature pigs, that has been recently opened in Yokohama, follows the steps of the first store Pignic Cafe in Yoyogi Park.

This time, the design idea was based on a Japanese most famous fairy tale about pigs, titled “The Three Little Pigs”. The story introduces three little piglet brothers. Each one of them builds a house and confronts a wolf. The materials mentioned in the story, such as straw, wood, and bricks, are still used today. Therefore, by applying such finishes as straw, wood and brick we attempted to design a space that would make people immerse into the world of a fairy tale. In fact, the bricks are applied from the floor to the ceiling. As they approach the ceiling level, they change into the wood, cut into the brick size pieces. From near the ceiling, they turn into a plaster finish that incorporates straw.
