灵感 Inspiration
白蚁必须在变化万千的风速，方向以及早晚温差巨大极端环境中生存。像白蚁一样，白蚁之家位于热带地区的越南岘港，这里旱季和雨季的气候差异巨大，并且每年定期受到热带风暴的侵袭。设计师从白蚁的巢穴中获得灵感，创造了一个通透明亮的同时，能够保护业主一家不受风雨侵扰的家。
As builders go, termites do not have many tools at their disposal — just their bodies, soil, and saliva. For guidance they have nothing to go on save variations in wind speed and direction and fluctuations in temperature as the sun rises and sets. Similarly, the Termitary House was built in a tropical country in which the weather is extremely different between sunny season and rainy one. It is also influenced by a lot of tropical storms every year.
适应于雨季的住宅结构 Structure of the house and solution for stormy season
该住宅结构层次丰富，外部砖墙布满像白蚁洞一样随机排列的孔洞，包裹着大尺度的内部楼层空间。这些通风孔促进了建筑内部的空气循环，新鲜空气和明亮的光线遍及住宅的每个角落，创造了一个清新宜人的居住环境。
The structure of the house include many layers which are brick walls with holes arranged randomly like a termitary together with the large inter-floor space.Those holes are considered as vents help the wind rorate inside the house and allows breeze and light get to all corners in the house, created a refresh living environment.

除此之外，住宅还使用了名为双层表皮的特殊建造工艺： 外部砖墙和内部推拉窗之间留有空隙，形成了内外空间之间的缓冲层。 到了雨季，玻璃内层用来阻挡狂风暴雨。缓冲层创造了内外气压差，内部污浊的空气，经由孔洞排向外部。在屋顶，建筑师利用反梁系统，把顶层楼板倒置，形成了用作种植植物的小花园，降低了热辐射对建筑的影响。
The special constructing technique of “double skins” with two layers : one brick wall covering outside and one slide – glass inside creates a space within a wall, which functions as a buffer layer at both gable.
In stormy season, the second layer will help to block the strong wind and rain . Also, the buffer layer create a fluctuation in pressure, push the wind go straight toward to the gap. On the roof, architects use a system of girders and upside down floors to create a small garden for plants which is used to decrease the affect of thermal radiation.

此外，建筑师在东西两侧配置了台阶，储藏室和厕所，形成了阻挡直射光的缓冲地带，使建筑结构即使遇到恶劣的台风天气也能保持稳固。
The architect allocated the stairs, warehouse and toilet in both East and West side created a buffer space to prevent the direct sunlight and make the structure of the house steadier in typhoons.

一个大尺度的公共空间居于住宅中心，并在此配置了烹饪区，用餐区和休闲娱乐区。同时，大厅连通了住宅中不同的功能区，例如休息室，起居室和卧室。夹层间是另一个卧室，一个冥想区和一个小型图书馆。阁楼上是一个绿藤环绕的开放休闲区。
The house is with a large sharing space in the center where a cooking counter, a dining table, and an entertaining corner. This “lobby” then leads to different functional areas in the house such as the rest room, the living room, and the bedrooms. The mezzanine is where another bedroom, an altar room, and a small library are found. The attic is an open relaxing area with rig vines.

在共享空间中，空间不会被墙体阻隔，即使在不同的房间，家庭成员也能够通过墙体孔洞彼此交谈。在忙碌的现代生活中，设计使家庭成员间彼此的距离更近一步。
In the sharing areas in the house, the space is not limited by the wall, the family members can still see and chat to each other through the walls with holes. It can help to bring family member be closer in this morden busy life.

照明 Lighting
白天，自然光通过内墙孔洞，在室内投下了几何形状的阴影。明媚的光线，湛蓝的天空和屋顶茂盛的植物，透过狭长的天窗和侧墙狭窄的方窗投向建筑内部，为房间增添了别样色彩。此外，它们也具备排出热风以保持室内凉爽的功能性作用。从早到晚，不同亮度的光线映照在砖墙上，微妙地改变着墙面颜色，使砖墙表面带有感性色彩。晚上，人造光透过表面孔洞向外投射，建筑像一个大灯笼般，在漆黑的夜色闪闪发光。
During the day, the natural light shines through to cast patterned shadows across the interior walls. Slender skylights and relatively narrow offer light and ventilation, providing each room with a view of the sky and the lush green roof. They also serve as outlets for hot air to keep the indoor cooler. At different time during the day, the variety of the light intensity getting through the interfloor holes makes the brick wall colours change and creates variety emotion of colour on the surface of the brick. In the evening, the house looks like a giant lantern with light shining through the holes.
