在2018米兰设计周中，Cotto d’Este携带其由设计师Ferruccio Laviani倾力打造的装置作品亮相。作为主展示空间的一部分，Cotto d’Este此次与著名建筑师Ferruccio Laviani合作，令该作品进一步突显并强化了品牌与建筑设计领域的密切联系。该装置位于米兰Piazza Castello，毗邻Cotto d’Este展厅的战略性位置上，并已于2018年4月17日至22日期间完成展示。

Cotto d’Este is taking part in the 2018 Fuorisalone with an installation designed by Ferruccio Laviani. The presence of Cotto d’Este at the first edition of this event dedicated to the world of design and the decision to collaborate with an architect as well known as Ferruccio Laviani underlines the strong affinity that has always linked the brand to the world of architecture. The installation, open from 17th to 22nd April in Piazza Castello, is in a strategically suitable location near to the Cotto d’Este showroom.

AllOver装置用大型超薄陶瓷面板融入充满舞台设计和雕塑作品的空间环境里。直线与曲线定义了这个装置所打造的空间。装置外观表现为规整的四边形，而内部蜿蜒曲折的路径则带领参观者暂时避开周围环境的侵扰，畅游在Cotto d’Este所打造的材料世界里。

The ultrathin, big ceramic slabs in Kerlite featured at AllOver are used in an evocative project involving elements of theatre stage design and sculpture. A combination of straight lines and curves define this installation. The perimeter is a square, inside of which a winding corridor invites you to escape from the surrounding environment, to be immersed in an area where you can discover the Cotto d’Este materials, finishes and collections.

In the words of Ferruccio Laviani, who designed the project: “AllOver is a combination of architecture, exhibition space and installation. A space not only to look at, but to move through and touch. This subtle atmosphere, where nothing is shrill, simply shows how a natural material has given life to a new material, the fruit of technology. A structure that invites us inside, asking to be visited and explored, presenting us with a new experience that, for a moment, suspends time and place and allows us to focus on ourselves and the space around us. Just get to know the material, its technical possibilities and qualities through the senses of touch and sight. I have called it ‘AllOver’ to give even more emphasis to the expressive potential of the product, using it on all surfaces, flat and curved, making the structure similar to a monolith just waiting to be looked at, touched and entered.”

整个装置由Cotto d’Este的专利层压陶瓷板产品Kerlite打造，借用这一材料，装置尽显其与众不同之处。三米高的大型Kerlite板使得整个装置空间避免了过多的材料接缝，形成完整均质的空间表面。于此同时，较轻的质量，玻璃纤维增强材料和3.5毫米到5.5毫米的厚度减小，都给予了材料最大的强度和独特的灵活性，其性能远远超过通常的表面材料，开启了陶瓷材料在建筑领域运用的新篇章。由设计师甄选的该装置的Kerlite材料还强调了其作为表面材料的多范围用途。其外围材料应用反映了石材与金属的混合材料特性。

The whole development will be built in Kerlite, the exclusive laminated porcelain stoneware slabs of Cotto d’Este, using the specific qualities of this material to heighten the design potential. In fact, thanks to a height of up to 3 meters, these large size Kerlite slabs makes it possible to reduce joints to a minimum and to have large, homogeneous surfaces. At the same time, the low weight, the glass fibre reinforcement and the reduced thicknesses (3.5 mm and 5.5 mm) provide maximum strength and a unique flexibility to the material, overriding the common conception of flat surfaces and opening the world of stoneware to a new concept of architecture. The finishes chosen by Laviani for the project also highlight the wide range of surfaces, colours and nuances available in Kerlite. The exterior of the installation strongly reflects a concept of materiality in a mix of surfaces inspired by stones and metals.
