该项目来自非常建筑的京兆尹素食餐厅室内设计，项目的原有建筑是一组新四合院，非常建筑工作室的主持设计师张永和先生，从空间、材料和景观方面做了巧妙设计，表达了一种传统与现代结合的美感。

我们室内设计不希望引人注意，旨在创造一个愉快的环境。此项目的现有建筑是一组新四合院，我们主要在以下三个方面进行了设计工作：

空间

我们尊重四合院建筑的核心元素 – 院。尽管原有的一个院子需要封起来，我们希望仍然保持两个院子的感觉，因此将封闭的院子做得尽量通透、明亮，用一个悬挂的八面屏营造既开敞又亲密的尺度。其结果形成一个室外一个室内的两个院子空间的对比。其它空间都围绕院子展开。

材料

我们采用了传统材料当代做法的策略。从四合院中提炼取了木、砖、瓦等典型材料，用非常规的使用和建造方法来组织它们：将木作成砖来砌筑；砖叠涩本是墙的砌法，但被移植过来作吧台；屋顶上用的瓦则用来搭屏风；等等。其目的是想达到传统和现代的共生与结合。

景观

我们对传统园林是抱批判态度的，认为其设计偏于繁琐。我们的景观设计中把传统的庭院内的元素简化成几个色块和质感，如暗红色的木框架、灰色的砖铺地，灰白相间的石子，就是说我们希望把古代景观中的琐碎去除，同时把其精华质量调动出来。

Our goal for the interior design was not to attract attention but mainly to create a pleasant environment. This project started with a newly constructed courtyard building. Our design focused on the following three aspects:

Space

We respected the key element of a courtyard house – the courtyard. Although one of the courtyards had to be covered by a roof, we still wished to keep the feeling of having two courtyards; therefore we designed the covered courtyard to be well-illuminated and well-ventilated. A suspended octahedral screen was used to create feelings of openness and intimacy. This resulted in the spatial contrast between the outdoor courtyard and the indoor courtyard. The rest of the space was organized around these two courtyards.

Materials

Our strategy was to apply traditional materials in a contemporary way. Extracting typical courtyard house materials such as wood, bricks and tiles, we organized them through unconventional approaches. Wood was made into blocks and aggregated just like bricks; technique for building brick corbel was used to build the bar table; roof tiles were used to make screens, etc. The goal was to achieve a symbiosis of tradition and modernity.

Landscape

We are critical of traditional-style gardens because we consider the design over- complicated. Our landscape design reduced the elements in a traditional garden into several patches of colors and textures: the dark red wooden frames, grey brick pavement, grey and white cobbles. We wished to eliminate the complication of traditional landscaping while highlighting its essential qualities.
