Appreciation towards Dangtu Studio for providing the following description:

本案是对位于上海静安区的一间住宅改造。整个住宅实用面积60平米，位于29层，俯瞰繁华摩登的闹市区。原始房型是适合家庭使用的多房间布局。业主是一位热爱下厨的年轻人，想要改造成一间风格现代的公寓，既适合独居，也适合好友做客聚会。

This project was based on the transformation of a 60m² apartment with a killing view of downtown Shanghai. The original layout was fragmented into several enclosed rooms. Our client wants to have a modern one-bedroom apartment with a cozy living&dinning space for friend gatherings.

设计师按照使用者的生活方式重新建立了空间秩序。厨房置于整个公寓的中心，两侧打开，向北连接着门厅，向南延伸至餐厅和客厅，形成一个明亮宽敞的开放空间。连续性的空间以地面材质划分功能边界：铺设柚木地板和开放裸顶的南侧是休闲区，铺设地砖和吊顶的部分则服务于厨房和储藏。畅通灵活的动线让聚会上朋友的欢笑，食物的香气和窗外的景致都流动起来，下厨者从局促封闭的厨房里被解放出来了。

The spatial sequence is rearranged according to the user’s activities. Kitchen is now located at the center of the apartment and opened up on both ends. On the north end it connects with the foyer and pantry with tiled floor and dropped ceiling. On the flip side it extends to the dinning and living area with teak flooring and open ceiling. The continuous and luminous volume creates a dynamic flow during a dinner party.

客厅被放置在阳光充足的西南角。原本开放的阳台加装了落地窗，270度的景致被引入室内。一块3米长的横向玻璃，勾勒出最佳比例的视野，让城市天际线成为整个空间的视觉重点。

The original open balcony is now enclosed with glass partitions bringing the prestige 270 degree city view into the living area. A 3 meter wide window frames and emphasizes the horizontal skyline with the best proportion.

设计师围绕窗户订制了1米高的嵌入式书架。三种陈列方式将书籍组合的美感变成一种额外的材料肌理。书架北面嵌入的橄榄绿亚克力，在透光的同时增添了一点色彩活力。日落时分，夕阳透过百叶窗和磨砂亚克力，在墙面上投射出温柔的光影律动。

A half-meter tall book shelving system is customized to fit precisely along the edge of balcony. Three types of display shelf create an additional texture out of the book collection. Olive green acrylic adds a vibrant tone to the neutral palette of the space. At dawn, light penetrates softly into the interior though translucent blinds and acrylic.

卧室位于东南角，窗户被外墙遮挡了一部分视线，原本的缺憾被转换为天然的遮光和隐秘性。有限的卧室面积里划分出一个步入式衣帽间，确保收纳的便利。

Bedroom is located at the eastern corner. The exterior structure blocks half of the natural light providing extra privacy and shade for sleep. A walk-in closet is added to maximize the storage space.
