毛毛。世上最好的小猫，我的毛毛。

我来不及反应，你已经不再冲我嚷嚷或打转，而是安安静静回到你的母星，还我一场大梦初醒。是的，你蒙蔽了我。用三角形的小耳朵，用柔软的肚皮，用很多个夜晚我枕边的咕噜咕噜声，用你仅有的十几年的全部生命，为我遮住漫长人生里的不安，贴住我在残酷世界中剐蹭的伤痕。

My cat Mao Mao left me and passed away before I could even react.

所以今天，我还是决定同你一起来到这儿——一个安静温和的小小空间，用人类告别时会有的仪式感，弥补见面时的潦草。进门前我望向了二楼的窗口，那里发散着温暖的光线，没有毛茸茸的脑袋等我。

I decided to go along with my cat to the pet farewell space. Here is a serene and tranquil shop where I aspire to give my feline companion a dignified send-off, akin to the formal farewells that humans often bestow upon their loved ones. Before entering, I looked at of the second-floor window. To my disappointment, there was no cat waiting for me when I arrived.

我在一层接待区等你洗漱干净。此刻我不想哭也没有笑，只是冷静平淡地观察着旁边的柜子、茶水间装半杯水的杯子，闪着荧荧微光的展陈架和隔开你我的门板，好像这次也是送你去体检那样的短暂分别。柔软的布把我环绕包裹在中间，在这个小空间里，去掉外界的干扰，我终于开始回忆和你有关的所有瞬间。

I waited in the reception area on the first floor as my kitten was being washed. At that moment, I had no willing to either weep or laugh, but simply serenely observed the surroundings of the first floor. Cabinets for storage, pantry, and display racks are arranged around the first floor, while the washroom is located in one corner. The reception area was surrounded by soft fabric, which effectively minimized external disturbances. Consequently, I was able to concentrate on recalling details relating to my cat.

我想起那天下午，尘土飞扬的路边，一个阿姨拎着装在纸袋里的你，你的兄弟在她肩头爬来爬去。我嫌你不够活泼，但实在喜欢你奶黄色的皮毛，为你付了30块的卖身钱。这是你第一次蒙我，谁能想到后来你变成了棕红色。回家后，我听说对小猫眨眼是在表达爱，于是对你缓慢挤眼，你冲上来抓伤了我的眼皮。你是真的本分老实不活泼吗？狡诈的小骗子。

I reminisced about our initial encounter, when an aunt was exhibiting the kittens she had for sale to passersby. Enamored with the yellow fur of the adorable feline, I purchased it for 30 yuan. An array of memories flooded my thoughts.

他们让我到楼上去见你。每踏一步楼梯我都胆战心惊，生怕你又突然从我不注意的角落冲出来扑我的腿，挡住我的去路，开始耍赖。可你没有。
楼上到处都是植株，脚下是柔软的草坪，但我想你也不会躲在这里。你从未真正去过自然中，也向来对植物不感兴趣，四方形的房间和我，就是你的全部。这样说来，也许现在你才真正自由，能够去你向往的任何地方。我以为你会在前方层层叠叠的薄纱中间伏击我。这些年来，我们一起辗转过很多城市和住所，生活的环境一直在变，不变的是每挂窗帘和毯子都难逃你“不经意”地关照，这次你也没有。
我还看到房间一侧起伏的小山坡上有其他小朋友躲在小小的罐子里，他们可能在观察被你捉弄的我，也可能在等着他们的家人接他回家。
那你呢，我该去哪找你呢，我的毛毛。

After the kitten had been groomed, the staff requested that I proceed to the second level to say goodbye. I made my way up the stairs to the second floor, where there was an abundance of plants adorning the space. On the ground is a soft green carpet that looks like a lawn, and there are numerous gauzes stacked one upon the other. On the right side of the room, there is a showcase that resembles a hill with a pristine color. Numerous small jars are placed on top of it. They may be the ashes of other people’s pets awaiting retrieval by their respective owners and taken home. In this space, Mao Mao did not emerge to engage in play with me as per our usual routine. This time, I have truly lost my feline companion. Because I cannot find it anywhere.

你5岁时，家里陆续来了两个弟弟。你大抵是觉得被分走了爱，高兴的时候追逐他俩，不高兴的时候殴打他俩。可毛毛，我知道你是善良的毛毛，你从未真正伤害过他们和我，也并不真的生气。但我仍为你开辟了一个高处的、只有你自己能去的秘密基地——衣柜顶，你又神气起来了。噢我知道了，你在上面。是的，我抬起头，轻柔的布料托住你，你在薄纱尽头的云朵上了。

In the past, my cat companion would often seek solitude atop the wardrobe，possibly due to a sense of security and comfort in that elevated space or perhaps because standing at such a height made it feel proud. So I guess the cat is up high, right? Yes, I lifted my gaze and observed a semi-circular space at the end of the sheer fabric. There, Mao Mao was held up by the soft material as if he were in the clouds.

你可以听懂很多话，但往往需要零食作为回报。刚刚我喊你下来，你竟然没有讨价还价，乖乖来到我身边。于是我们又一次一起躺下，躺在软绵绵的地毯里，此刻你的表情和你幼崽时期在我手臂上睡觉时一模一样，只是那样的亲近转瞬即逝。长大后你变成了一只不喜欢和人长时间贴贴的独立猫崽，和我躺一会儿就会跑开，在离我半米处卧下冲我眯眼，只留下衣服上、空气里纷飞的毛毛，我曾试图把它们集中起来制作成某种保暖装备，当时应该坚持做完的，这样也许以后我还能摸到你干燥的猫猫香气。

As I approached, the fabric slowly descended and the kitten eventually fell with he onto the circular platform on the ground. I lay down with he once again, on the carpet, as though we were frolicking together in his early days. In the past, Mao Mao has brought me a great deal of joy. In this tranquil space, I slowly picked up those memories and bid them farewell.

过去我对别人分享过很多你的趣事，也吐槽你带给我的困扰，其实只是为了炫耀我有一只小猫。所以我给你提供食物和住所也并不纯粹，私心甚多。一生一世不过一霎，和你这样的小猫结伴同行了那么多那么好的时间，实在是我意外得到的垂怜。我没有孩子，却也完整地经历了一个小生命的一生，谢谢你选我当你的家长。
毛毛啊，我不打算再哭了，总被挂念的孩子是会被牵绊住的。希望你健康快乐地在喵星奔跑，不要回头看我，这里的一切都与你不再相干。只有自由和快乐，配得上你。

我回到了记忆里的那片草地。
那是一个模糊的影子，透过层层环状排列的薄纱，在光的尽头，好几次让我误以为是一朵白色的云。
拨开帘子，沿着之字形的流线。柔软的质感在指尖轻盈划过，头顶的植物与光线令草色显得更加斑驳。我不断摸索着，迫切地想抓住它。
穿过那片“薄雾”，是一个半圆形的空间。
等我找到的时候，它已经落下来了。
安静柔软。
我坐下来，从未以为我们之间的距离可以如此近，因此仔细感受着它温热的鼻息。
许久有微弱的光从窗帘的细缝中侵入
它看起来累了注视着远处
雾散去的时候
时间停在这条线
