21 is an exploration of an analog system of making, whereby thin sheets of porcelain are draped over a sandblasted borosilicate glass inverted trumpet diffuser. The thin porcelain skin is allowed to dress over the borosilicate core to create whatever form is most natural to it. This makes a unique shape, of varying size, in every iteration of the fabrication process.

21 pendants are designed to be arranged in groupings, such that the individual pieces touch each other to articulate larger forms. The relatively simple shapes of the individual pendants, when layered and nestled together, make complex sculptural compositions.

Each diffuser houses a low voltage (12V, 20Watt xenon or 1.5W LED) lamp. A strong contrast is established between the organically distributed soft light passing through the translucent white porcelain skin and the sharp, crisp light passing through the borosilicate glass diffuser.

Specs & Instructions

This low voltage pendant is designed to be clustered into groups. Each individual pendant is a sheet of raw porcelain wrapped around a frosted blown glass diffuser that houses a 20 watt xenon lamp.

The mini canopy is just over 1” (29mm) in diameter and 0.5” (13mm) deep, which creates a subtle profile that will essentially disappear into the application surface.

The 21.1m is recommended for new build applications where the intent is to create a cluster or cloud of 21 pendants in a room, without causing a negative visual impact on the ceiling plane.

Popular residential and commercial applications include clusters over tables in dining rooms and restaurants, accessory lighting in living rooms and baths, linear configurations over bars and kitchen islands, large clusters in lobbies, foyers and other private and public spaces, and single pendants as points of interest.

The round, brushed nickel canopy comes standard with 10’ (3m) of coaxial cable. Additional cable lengths are available in increments of 10’ (3m) up to 120’ (36m) for special requests.

The 21.1m is a strain relief connection, which allows for the pendant length to be adjusted on site.
