Commissioned by Hyundai Motor, Asif Khan unveiled their project for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games in South Korea，a super-black pavilion that described as the “darkest building on earth”. The facades of the 35m x 35m structure are entirely coated in Vantablack VBx2, a matt black material that is able to absorb 99% of the light that hits its surface, diminishing its three dimensionality and creating the illusion of a startling black void in broad daylight. The exterior is illuminated by a field of stars created by thousands of tiny white lights that appear to float in mid-air.

展馆的内部是一个巨大的“水室”，这是一个多感知型的疏水装置，每分钟会发射出2万5千个水滴。参观者可通过触觉传感器为不断碰撞、汇聚和分离的水滴赋予不同的节奏和韵律。这些水滴将持续地形成一个“湖泊”，在以分钟为单位的时空里不断地排空和重新涌现。
Inside the building locates a vast ‘water room’ – a multi-sensory hydrophobic water installation which emits 25,000 singular water droplets every minute. Visitor interaction with a series of haptic sensors creates new rhythms as droplets continually collide, join, and split across the water landscape. These flows of individual droplets collect, grow and build into a ‘lake’ which drains and reappears in the space of minutes.
