Appreciation towards Lab Modus for providing the following description:

The site is a long rectangular shape with the narrower side facing a street by theTaoyuan County exit of national highway. The scheme consists of a two-story liftedglass box and a sequence of double layered perforated metal panels. Resonating with theform of ancient Chinese lucky animal, the form of the project takes inspiration of“dragon”, a symbol of success and luck. Giving maximum presence to the context, theoverall massing of project applies advantage of the length of the site to make acontinuous extension to all dimensions of the project. In addition, the graduallytransformed perforated metal panels also provide an eco-friendly solution to preventdirect sunlight exposure into the interior space to reduce the usage of air conditionand artificial lighting devices.

「建筑」人类发展文化过程的意涵，不同的时代，均可从建筑形式与纹理中发现当代的某些文化特质，如今是个科技日新月异的时代，生活周遭的事物几乎与数位概念脱不了关係，许多偶然出现于内心的一个想法，或是複杂的几何形状组合，即使现实情况中难以表现、施作，但经由数位模拟程式的修正、测试，将其结果呈现于现实环境后，成果往往颠覆了有别以往的视觉感受。

近年来，「永续」不断提醒我们环保意识的重要性，生态意识的觉醒、能源再生的观念，已经让绿色建筑成为新兴建筑中无可或缺的角色，于建筑生命週期中，从规划、设计、施工、使用、拆除的以上过程中，消耗地球最少资源，为此本次接待中心将以重複使用性高的冲孔铝製板做为本次设计的主要建筑材料，摆脱以往接待中心结束使用后拆除时产生的大量废弃物，浪费资源的刻板印象。

本桉位于台湾北部桃园平镇，距离火车站与中坜市区约15分钟车程，而高铁站短短20分钟即可到达，极具交通便利性为接待中心带来相当大的优势。

此为一狭长型基地，沿街面宽较短进深较长，建筑量体以基地形状延伸呈现长型方块，本次设计构想将几何型构与中式传统文化连结，将古老神话中神兽「龙」的姿态在狭长型建筑量体上进行意象的转换，行云流水的动态效果以数位化的模式进行几何意象的结合，利用极具延展性的冲孔铝製板以片状的方式做不同角度的扭转打折，于形式上渐层叠加，使视觉感官上产生强烈的动态效果，而侧立面藉由铝板渐层排列产生弧形曲线的风洞，利用层次牵引的序列系统将自然风引导进入室内空间，达到通风换气以及节能减碳的作用；另一方面将入口框架拉至3楼高度，以不规则的切割手法，给予入口适度的张力效果，表现稳如砌石般的意象。由于近年都市热岛效应日渐严重，将整体色调以纯白色系为主轴，减少建筑物大量吸收太阳辐射热，同时降低建筑资材的消耗使用度；并于3楼设置半户外天井的活动空间，增加室内空间与户外产生互动的可能性，同时补足狭长型建筑缺乏的自然採光率。

仲向国际设计顾问有限公司，由主持设计师张祐铨于2006年设立于台北。

设计团队历练过各式不同规模尺度的设计、规划与施工专桉，藉由丰富经验与团队激盪设计的做法，由主持设计师针对专桉进行详细分析及研究，进而率领团队达成完整之设计表现及目标。身兼专业建筑设计师与设计教育工作者的身分，主持设计师致力于将建筑与室内设计元素的无限延伸性，发挥至淋漓尽致且完美运用于各个专桉。
