An anodized aluminum skin provides the overarching concept organizing this building. From the fourth floor, it opens upward and toward the south to make room for the system of wood frames overlooking the planted terraces. The prism façade rising from the ground floor to the third floor is comprised of an opaque skin made of naturel anodized aluminum and bright annealed stainless steel with a highly reflective finish running along the face of the prism. Here, the skin alternates with the aluminum frames whose wooden window-framing elements are masked, allowing only clear glazing to be visible.

To achieve this, the lintel of the window frames is treated with a bright annealed stainless steel cladding placed virtually in the same plane, thereby creating an effect of continuity of reflection.

The volume of the office building is used to skillfully link the different scales ensuring the passage from the 8 floors facing the ring road to the three floors facing the heart of the district. On the ground floor, it takes up the entire lot, except for a 5-meter alley on the edge of the property separating it from the neighboring building. From there it rises in a setback to eight stories. This soft transition is enhanced by the differing treatment of the façades. The north façade has a “uniform texture” comprised of juxtaposed frames, a skin, which, owing to the serial use of a model gives the impression of much larger scale. On the north side, the prism shimmering in the morning and evening serves the function of an urban landmark from the ring road while also linking the scales of the place.

From the fourth floor to the seventh, the south façade is comprised of an alternating series of wood frames and colored solid areas covered in a range of shades green, thereby creating touches if color superimposed on the green trellis. On the south side, to the contrary, the balconies extending across the façade are equipped with green trellises. The stratification created by the superimposed balconies, the presence of greenery and the building’s setbacks give it a domestic look and a relation with its context that contrasts with the other façade.

The lobby, only break on the ground floor, is located at the building’s corner, further accentuating its powerful identity from the ring road.

A system of ribbon windows on each floor makes it possible to optimize access to natural light, regardless of the exposure. This principle offers a great advantage in terms of autonomy of access to daylight, thereby ensuring lower energy consumption.

All the window frames on the façade can be opened during the day, enabling natural ventilation of the offices. In addition, all the façades exposed to sunshine are equipped with retractable blinds, linked to the building’s central computer.
