2019, a year where inspiration revolves around the claim and social concern about the seas situation. Consideration and action guide the new work of Arturo Álvarez. Mytilus and Aimei are the new decorative lighting proposals by Arturo Álvarez. Experimentation, design, research, innovation and handmade. Mytilus and Aimei join the philosophy of Arturo Álvarez, sculptural luminaries that build bridges between the two facets of the designer. These two proposals are the result of research, exploration and experimentation of new materials and processes. With the concern to improve the sustainability of designs as background, Arturo Álvarez presents these new creations inspired by the seas and, through their names, calls to consider the problem of plastic in the oceans.

aimei系列|aimei collection

Aimei纤细的脊向外扩展和保护着内部光源，形成柔韧而弯曲的形态，如同初升的太阳，散发着生命力与热量。灯具由白蜡木制成，具有无限的可能性。不同的角度让光线以不同的方式闪耀着。这个大型灯具有一个由木匠制作的光源和有机而轻质的木质形态。

Aimei, delicate spines that expand and protect light. Flexibility and curves that are cradled. The sun that is born and breathes life and heat. This design made of ash wood, has infinite possibilities. Each perspective makes the light shine in a different way. This large luminaire has a light source made by artisans that blends with an organic and light wood form.

mytilus系列|mytilus collection

Mytilus充满着怀旧与宁静感，它是运动着的海洋，是波浪、洋流，拥有波澜起伏与富有韵律的形态。它是动态的，是生命，是隐秘的宝藏。这个新系列有适用于所有空间类型的三种不同款式，Mytilus由不锈钢网手工制成，内部是手工制成的玻璃郁金香光源。这些手工制作的产品非常精细，呈现为空间中有机流动的形态，可作为壁灯和吊灯。

Mytilus is nostalgic and calm. It is sea in movement, waves, ocean currents, sinuous and rhythmic forms. It is movement, it is life, it is mystery and hidden treasures. This new collection has three proposals for all types of spaces. Handmade with stainless steel mesh, Mytilus has a light source wrapped by a handmade glass tulip. These pieces are worked by hand with great delicacy obtaining, thus, an organic form that flows with the space. The Mytilus collection is presented as wall and pendant lamp.

Arturo Alvarez is a lighting brand that currently exports its handmade products to more than 80 markets around the world.
