Scott Hazard毕业于加州理工大学景观设计专业，随后他前往佛罗里达大学研修当代艺术。如Scott Hazard一贯的表达形式，他运用一系列纸板，经过精心的裁剪和仔细的拼合，最终呈现出一件件动人的作品。

Scott Hazard received his landscape architecture education at California Polytechnic State University, and then continued his study in fine art at the University of Florida. Like his former works, he used layers of paper, with carefully torn or cut, spaced apart and aligned to define sculptural voids.

The world we are living is surrounded by endless informations and stimulus. Easily to escape from the noise, still it is hard to get rid of the network of informations. The works of Scott Hazard were created to response to this kind of phenomenon. The artwork created by layers of paper forms a intriguing void, where the viewers’ vision go through it and acts as if the vision has its own perception. This kind of unique experience enables viewers’ visions to remain a bit longer in the voids. And as long as your vision stays there, your mental remains to be inviolate.

Scott Hazard also put language on the layers. Viewing from distance, the artworks are seemingly Chinese monochromes; when stepping forward, you may find the language moving from a layer to another, catching the viewers’ eyes and creating a dynamic reading experience. The void emerged in these works is rooted largely in Buddhist notions of emptiness, where by viewing them, one would receive a space for a sensory pause.
