Victor Melamed是一名来自俄罗斯的插画家，今年35岁的他自学成才，疯狂热爱画画，最高的记录是一星期画了100副画。在15年的绘画生涯中，他不断尝试新鲜的事物，画过动画，广告壁画。最后，他专注于肖像画。Victor Melamed从2004年画“滚石人物”肖像画之后，已经画了接近百副作品。他非常着迷正负空间的对比形状和节奏，在其中找到诗意，通过纯粹的形状鲜明的让画作活灵活现，真的是很棒的创作。

I’m an illustrator from Moscow, Russia, 35 yo; I teach illustration at a colledge, on my own evening illustration course and on foundation; I also run an community of russian-speaking illustrators spread around the world called Tzeh (tzeh.ru) currently numbering over 60 members, each my personal idol.

As an illustrator I’m self-taught. Five years of studying accountancy gave me nuclear motivation, I can draw for weeks non stop – which is a small exaggeration. My personal record is 100 illustrations in a week.

In 15 years of working in illustration I tried anything, from animated advertising to murals, and finally stuck with portraits. My portraits for the Rolling Stone began in 2004 and are now nearing a hundred.

I’m fascinated with shape and rhythm in the image, the interplay of positive and negative spaces. But illustration to me is first of all a narrative, a short poem, I see my my portraits as visual epigrams. So i guess my subject is balancing narrative with pure shape – the hardest and the most rewarding task I know.
