江门新会垃圾焚烧发电厂位于广东省江门市新会区,厂区内建筑方案由UUA建筑师事务所的设计合伙人李泳征与管理合伙人李其郅共同主持。建筑以群帆意向回应场地的地理位置与历史文脉,并通过高装配率的模块化设计,实现人文温度和技术精度的高度统一。

The Jiangmen Xinhui Waste-to-Energy Power Plant is located in the Xinhui District of Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province. The architectural design was led by UUA Design Partner Yongzheng Li and Managing Partner Qizhi Li. The building adopts the imagery of sails to respond to the site’s geographical context and historical heritage. Through a modular design with a high prefabrication rate, the project achieves an integration of humanistic quality and technical precision.

背景:交通节点上的形象重塑
Context: Image Reinvention at a Transportation Node

随着城市网路的扩张,许多工业园区由不被注意的城市边缘转变为交通干线沿途的视觉焦点,巨大的建筑体量成为往来人流感知城市的重要印象。这类特殊的地理位置,赋予了工业建筑超越生产功能的形象使命。传统设计往往将生产过程封闭于技术屏障之内,切断了工业与日常生活的视觉关联。面对这一现实,我们尝试在高效运转与公共形象之间寻求平衡,通过空间与形式的统筹,使巨大的工业体量呈现出开放的姿态,让工厂在满足功能需求的同时,也成为具有辨识度的城市门户。

As urban networks expand, many industrial sites have shifted from unnoticed urban fringes to visual landmarks along major transportation routes. Their large building volumes become key impressions for passers-by perceiving the city. This specific geographical condition gives industrial architecture a new mission beyond production. Traditional designs often enclose industrial processes behind technical barriers, severing the visual connection between industry and daily life. Responding to this reality, we seek a balance between operational efficiency and public image. Through the coordination of space and form, the large industrial volume adopts an open posture, allowing the facility to function as both a factory and a recognizable urban gateway.

江门新会垃圾焚烧发电厂位于崖门水道和虎跳门水道交汇的半岛上,背靠群山,直面入海口。场地介于沿海高速与江门大道之间,两条近乎平行的交通干线界定出狭长的厂区。陆海交汇的地理位置使其成为往来车辆与船只共同注视的城市焦点。

The plant sits on a peninsula at the confluence of the Yamen and Hutiaomen waterways, backed by mountains and facing the sea. The site lies between the Coastal Expressway and Jiangmen Avenue, with two nearly parallel traffic arteries defining its elongated shape. This land-sea intersection makes it a visual focus for both vehicles and vessels.

江门地处珠江三角洲西部,自古水运发达,是古代海上丝绸之路的重要节点。历史上水面往来的帆影,既是江门的历史记忆,也是城市的超级符号。我们把风帆作为建筑意向,呼应场地的地理位置与历史文脉,通过巨大的体量,营造出层层帆影航行于山海之间的意境。风帆是一种源自于古人的智慧,将大自然中的风转化为驱动船舶前进的动力;而垃圾焚烧发电是现代人的智慧,将垃圾变废为宝,转化为宝贵的能源。因此,风帆成为一种关于能量转化和利用的隐喻。

Jiangmen, located in the western Pearl River Delta, has been a hub of waterborne transport since ancient times and an important node on the Maritime Silk Road. The sails that once traversed its waters are not only part of the city’s historical memory but also a powerful local symbol. We adopt the sail as the architectural concept, responding to the site’s location and cultural context. The large-scale forms evoke layers of sails navigating between mountains and sea. The sail represents ancient wisdom, harnessing wind to propel ships. Waste-to-energy technology represents modern wisdom, transforming waste into valuable energy. Thus, the sail becomes a metaphor for energy conversion and utilization.

表皮:模数化的幕墙组团
Facade: Modular Curtain Wall Clusters

为了优化本方案的建筑外观和成本控制,我们以1m作为基本模数,对幕墙系统进行模数化控制。以此模数为基础,又生成了6m、9m、18m和22m这四种宽度的风帆形态的幕墙组团。在具体材料和构造的设计选型中,我们将白色平面铝板、白色波纹铝板与玻璃幕墙组合,形成微妙的肌理变化,为建筑增添细腻的层次。通过模数控制下的幕墙组团,我们打造了一个兼具实用与美学的工业建筑外观,同时也为建筑部件的标准化制造和后期的易维护性提供了强有力的支持。

To optimize both appearance and cost control, we established a basic module of 1m to regulate the curtain wall system. Based on this module, four sail-shaped curtain wall clusters were developed, with widths of 6m, 9m, 18m, and 22m. The material and construction selection combines white flat aluminum panels, white corrugated aluminum panels, and glass curtain walls, creating subtle textural variations that add refined layering to the building. This modular approach to the curtain wall clusters results in an industrial architectural appearance that is both practical and aesthetic, while also supporting standardized component manufacturing and long-term maintainability.

结语:从概念到建造
Summary: From Concept to Construction

江门新会垃圾焚烧发电厂以线性狭长的场地为基底,回应陆海交汇的特殊区位,将“风帆”作为文脉转译与功能隐喻的双重载体。设计通过模数化的幕墙系统,将这一意象转化为可建造的技术体系。近800米的建筑体量在呈现工业逻辑的同时,也从城市边缘的角色转变为具有门户意义的空间节点,获得清晰的城市辨识度。

The Jiangmen Xinhui Waste-to-Energy Power Plant responds to its linear site and unique land-water location by adopting the “sail” as both a cultural translation and a functional metaphor. The design translates this imagery into a constructible technical system through a modular curtain wall. The nearly 800-meter-long architectural volume, while expressing industrial logic, transforms from a peripheral urban role into a spatial node with gateway significance, achieving a distinct urban identity.
