艺术家陶海悦将生活中与人眼神对视交流时的尴尬，不安，恐惧的情绪，融入到了这次的眼镜的再设计中。她设计了两副眼镜，用以避免人们的眼神交流。

The artist Haiyue Tao integrates the embarrassed, uneasy and terrified emotion in time of eye contact into the re-design of glass. She designs two pairs of glass for averting the eye contact of people.

Haiyue designs the upward or downward deflector on the original glass structure, which is accomplished with 3D printing technology, and the deflector can change the sight of the users. When two users communicate, their sight may be parallel, but never intersects.

她说：“当我完成这两副眼镜时，我将它们带上街，邀请不同的路人来使用。他们常常能发现使用时的小乐趣，这是我在设计之初没能想到的，例如当吃面或者喝汤的时候，他们不再需要低头，或者是不抬头的情况下就能发现天色的变化及鸟儿的身影。使用者的视野范围被抬高或是放低，远离了原先习惯的视野空间，从而被扩大，获得视觉的新鲜刺激。在与使用者进行交流时，总是能给我带来各种惊喜，最初对于眼神交流的不安全感，在我一次次与使用者愉快交流后，也慢慢被削减。

在这件最初以传递个人情绪的设计中，设计师最终找到破解这份不安的钥匙。在与使用者交流体验的过程中，设计者也慢慢放下了心中的枷锁，这大概就就是设计所带来的情感回馈吧！

She said that ‘when I accomplish the two pairs of glasses, I invite different passersby to use it. They can always discover the fun in application, which is not thought of at the beginning of the design. For instance, there is no need for them to lower their heads when eating noodles or drinking soup, or they can discover the changes in weather and traces of birds withoutraising heads. The field of view of the user is raised or lowered, being far away from the original view, and instead, it is enlarged, achieving a fresh stimulation of vision. It can always bring surprise for users during the communication process. Even the sense of insecurity in eye contact is weakened gradually after several times of cheerful communication.’

In the design which is initially intended for transiting the individual emotion, the artist finally finds out the key to breaking the insecurity. During the process of communicating experience, the artist also lays down worries, and this is probably the emotional feedback brought by the design.
