With a rich culture, a legacy of crafts and heritage, Lucknow needs a dedicated platform to encourage its craftsmen and artisans. Also, being the capital of the state of Uttar Pradesh, it needs a single platform to help promote the culture of crafts of the entire state and of the Awadh region in particular in a holistic fashion. Awadh Shilpgram is a place that addresses this need and gives craftsmen opportunities to elaborate and share, interact and learn, teach and sell their arts and crafts to people and art lovers without the help of middlemen.

The site enjoys good frontage on Amar Shaheed Path road in Lucknow and is located in a fast developing area as it is between the Awas Vikas’ Vrindavan Yojana and Ansal’s Suhant Golf City.

Awadh Shilpgram is a visual and experiential mélange, typically like Indian urban Bazaars. Its program facilitates activities of leisure, recreation and an indulgence in food and socio- cultural celebrations and encourages shopping that supports livelihoods and keeps alive the legacy of arts and crafts. It houses nearly two-hundred craft shops, craft courts for workshops, an amphitheatre, a food court serving cuisine from different states and other supportive facilities.

拱 Arches

螺旋集市从印度传统的跳蚤市场中获取灵感，螺旋形态使其拥有长达822米的商业门面。这些折叠的拱形为对Roomi之门的现代诠释，人们从侧面看去时，将从中感受到那座标志性大门的影子。

Inspired by the old flea markets of indian cities, the spiral marketplace consists of a 822 meter long shopping flea, the longest possible, owing to its spiral form. A contemporary take on the Roomi Darwaza, these folded arches, hint at the impression of the iconic gateway when viewed in profile.
