Appreciation towards Carmen Buttjer for providing the following description:
A set of six pieces in porcelain and bread: ACT Tableware by Carmen Buttjer captures the creation process with roughly formed, edible baked goods, molded from the porcelain objects that they serve.
The kitchen represents in almost every flat the most professional room. It contains various tools and instruments to produce products which go directly into our body.
The artefact of common dishes are final products, the product follows the process. How does a product look like that keeps the moment of creation? ACT – a set of six pieces – captures the process and a snapshot when an object starts to exist. The porcelain dishes are used as molds to produce copies out of dough to set the table. The porcelain appears cold and almost perfect in contrast to the warm, rough dough, that gets cracks and edges by the baking.
