在项目中，我们更愿意将装饰与设计分开来考虑。尽管二者在执行的过程中存在着目的与手段的糅合，但概念的细化更有助于每一个环节接近合理与准确，分开考虑其实是为了更好地合而为一。

We would like to distinguish the decorate and the design in the subject plans.Although they have some same means and purposes during the operations,making the concept more detailed is often make more rational and accurate.Therefore,to distinguish and consider them separately is better for the unity.

简单来讲，设计是一种规划和统领的过程。在这个项目中，需要规划的是该场地处于一个特定位置时，如何较好地合理实现其基本功能。之所以这样说，是因为这个场地是一所英文类教育机构的必经之路——与此前“佳音英语”旗下的U-MAX Coffee理念一致，佳音英语学校利用一楼的空间，既是作为对公众开放的精品咖啡店，同时也作为英语学校的学员、家长休息交流的场所或English Corner；而需要统领的是，在设计的思维之下，如何实现上述功能、性质与体验及视觉审美的统一，装饰往往也在这一统领之下。

Put simply,design is the concept of plan and guide.We must know how to set the basic function more rational when the subject in the special place.Why do we think this problem?Because this special place is the necessary path of Joy English Education School,the same to the U-Max coffee bar before which affiliates to Joy School company,the ground floor of the school is not only a special coffee bar but also a meeting place and English Coner.In this satuation, what we should do is realizing the unity of function,experience and visual aesthetic with the design thinking,therefore,the decorate is also under this guide.

从功能的角度来看，“必经之路”蕴含着“穿过”的含义，站在目的地为学校的过路者视角，穿过的这个通道应当是畅通的，在这一条件下，反推咖啡店的布局与途径桌椅的设置。中央留出通道，临近通道一侧的桌椅高于常规尺度并且为固定式，这样做的好处是考虑就坐人的心理尺度感受，并且方便交流，被固定的桌椅也不必担心因频繁走动而带来的一些碰撞。确定了局部特殊区域的设计思路，其余的布局安排也就变得顺理成章。

In the view of functions, “the necessary path”contains the meaning of“cross over”.In the passers-by’s point to go to the destination of the school，the passageway must be unobstructed.Based on this condition，we can plan how to put the tables and the chairs.We prepared the passageway in the middle of the room.In order to satisfy the feelings of the customers’psychological measure and convenient to communicate，we design the tables and chairs which  near by the crossing path are fixed and taller than stock size.We will not worry about the collisions on the tables and chairs just because they are fixed.Once we decided the design method of the special area，the plan for the rest fell into place rapidly.

吧台头顶上方的照明以光束的形式散布，象征着思维的发散和希望教育成果更好地散播；而普通的白炽灯经过方向性的牵引，使本该垂直向下的吊线灯对抗着地心的引力，有了生命力和方向感。

The lighting above the bar counter is distributed by light beam which is heralding the thingking dispersive and the education achievement better dissemination.While the comment incandescent lamp is trend by the directional traction with vitality and sense of direction，against the gravity of the earth instead of hanging down.

在设计思维的统领下，装饰既是目的，也是手段，但装饰中也蕴含着设计。“对装饰设计的反应很大程度取决于设计出现的场合”，我相信这是真理。在这个场合里，教育的意义是引导人们走向更光明的未来，一座教育机构旗下的咖啡店和英语角，应当具有这样美好的寓意。所以整间店面的氛围是通透的，是可以透过阳光被刻画的。

With the design thinking ,decorating is not only the aim but also the means and contains the design. I believe it is the truth that the people’s response to the decoration design is deeply decided by the occasion which the design appeared.At this occasion，the meaning of the education is leading the students toward the brighter future,because the coffee shop and the English corner which belong to the education group should have the good moral.Therefore the atmosphere in the whole room is transparently and should be depicted by sunshine.

虽是路过的风景，但U-MAX也是独特的存在。经过设计的规划与统领，这里会让路过的人们驻足，因为往往旅途上意料之外的风景更会使人体会到什么叫作惊喜和内心的欢愉。

Although it is the view passing by，the U-MAX coffee is the unique one.Through design，the people who passes by here will stop，because the fine view which unexpected often give us the answers what the surprise and the inner enjoy are.
