Appreciation towards Claesson Koivisto Rune Architects for providing the following description:
Claesson Koivisto Rune为世界著名家具品牌Artifort设计了一系列立足于基本构造概念的桌子。咋一看桌面与桌腿平实无奇,但在这极简中却展示了不失态度和个性的桌面与桌腿连接方式,而这种桌腿与桌面的交接方式是该设计的最大特色。从这一概念出发,衍生制造出多种多样大小和样式各异的桌子易如反掌。同时桌子可以具备多种色彩,适应各种房间和功能运用。
Claesson Koivisto Rune designs table collection for Artifort using hidden engineering to make key detail appear effortless.
When asked by Artifort – known to us and the world as the No. 1 Dutch furniture brand for architects – to design a series of tables, it was clear to us to base the concept on pure architectural principles.
The Palladio table is a table in its most essential form – flat top, four straight legs, nothing else.
So less is more, but less is also more… difficult. The connection between the leg and top is not just virtually invisible, but needs to be very strong. Thanks to the clear concept and the good collaboration between us as designers and the Artifort engineers we were able to work together to achieve the challenging goal: Minimum material dimensions, pure expression, maximum stability.
The design feature of the Palladio table lies entirely in the leg/top joint detail. And because the connection is so strong an almost endless variation of sizes and proportions of a table is possible. Adding a variety of colours and/or surface materials the table works in almost any room or function and in combination with other furniture in any style.
We strongly believe in the iconic power of reduction of expression in the Palladio table. Equally inspired by the classic principles of architecture by the Venetian master of renaissance architecture, Andrea Palladio (1508 – 80) and the minimalistic sculptures by American artist Donald Judd (1928 – 94) we hope this table will have a long life through passing trends.
