Appreciation towards Atelier Tekuto for providing the following description:

这个小住宅位于城市郊区边缘的用地，临靠农田。建筑师希望在通过该建筑实现生活方式以经济为基础向以自然为基础的转变。为此运用五个设计元素使得自然与建筑的边界模糊，人们就像生活在一个能充分感受自然的篷布结构中。这五个要素有：1，类似迷宫般的布局；2，有16个天窗，外立面很少开窗；3，住宅内外种上绿植盆栽；4，内外饰面都是焦化的雪松木；5，内外的地面都是抛光水磨石。

Between Urban and Rural The site is situated in urbanization controlled area between residential area and farmland. It belongs to legally unbuildable zone but the client was allowed to built due to
his vested rights of the land.

Ecology-Based Life
The house stands on the edge between economy-based urban development area and rural land. Our design proposes a dramatic shift from economy-based to ecology-based lifestyle.

Blurring Boundary
We first envisioned living under tarp-like structure where one can fully feel nature and move freely between inside and outside. In order to fully integrate architecture and nature, we intend to blur boundary between inside and outside by adopting following

five design elements:
(1) Maze-like composition
(2) 16 skylights-Some are glazed for interior use, and others without glazing for
exterior purpose.
(3) Potted plants as design element-Seven identical potted plants are located inside
and outside.
(4) Wall finish-Same finish inside and outside: Charred and polished cedar wood
finished with persimmon tannin containing Bengara (sanguine)
(5) Floor finish-Same finish inside and outside: Polished terrazzo
