The proposal uses the ESPORA module, from the company URBANESPORA, designed to make green roofs but used in an unconventional way.

为此,项目团队使用了由回收的聚丙烯制成的基件,将它们整合成一系列六边形的构件,转变成一种新型“砖”。本项目的设计概念是将这些新型“砖”组合成一个不规则的六边形系统,形成一个有机的、能看出组织序列的“云朵“,同时表现出植物细胞的特征。

For this, the base piece, made of recycled polypropylene, is used, which is folded into a hexagon and transformed into a new “brick”. The idea is to combine these bricks in an irregular hexagonal grid forming an “CLOUD” of organic aspect and a character of vegetal cells.

从设计概念上讲,本项目的最终形式不仅不固定,还具有无限的可能性,通过数量的增减,人们可以根据自己的想法、通过不同的布局方式来组合这些六边形构件,甚至可以将它们组合成长凳和桌子等具有具体功能的物体,还可以利用阳光,创造出迷人的光影效果。
本项目是为帕拉伊索艺术节(PARAÍSO Festival)而专门设计的,共包括四面平行的墙体。这四面墙体皆通过上部的金属管相连,不仅巩固了整体结构的稳定性,更能在悬挂着的土工布的配合下,创造出一系列遮阳空间。本项目由马德里建筑师协会(Architects’ Association of Madrid)的MATCOAM组织,建筑材料将由URBAN ESPORA公司提供。

Conceptually the proposal does not have a definitive form, but it is an INFINITE game of possibilities since, through an extrusion process, different arrangements can be improvised, adding hexagonal bricks, to form benches, tables or shadows.
The project for the PARAÍSO Festival consists of 4 parallel walls joined by upper metal tubes that give stability to the whole and allow to create shadow spaces with a hanging geotextile sheet. The contest has been organized by the MATCOAM of the Architects’ Association of Madrid and the materials for the construction will be ceded by the companie URBAN ESPORA.

组装过程 | THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS
450个六边形构件被直接运至展览场地,现场安装。在整个组装过程中,项目团队所面临的第一个重大挑战,便是项目中四面墙体的建造。实际上,整个装配过程就像是一个研究探索的过程,因为在整个过程中,项目团队都需要考虑不规则地形对整个装置和装配的影响。因此,项目团队找来了15名学生,共同完成本装置项目的装配。在这些学生的帮助下,项目团队使用4,500个螺钉和1,200个法兰盘将所有的六角形构件连接在一起,打造出一系列宛如真实生命体的灵活性墙体。在“脚”、“肾脏”、“胸部”和“头部”等构件的支持下,这个装置创造出一个临时的、脆弱的、且不固定的结构, 也打造出一个宜居的空间。

The installation was carried out with 450 URBAN ESPORA trays arrived directly at the Festival site. From the prototype, the construction of the 4 walls has been a challenge in which we have moved like a tightrope walker.
The assembly has been a research process in how the whole would behave, supported by an irregular terrain. With the help of 15 students we have joined the hexagonal pieces with 4,500 screws and 1,200 flanges, forming walls that have behaved with the flexibility of a living organism. These walls have been accommodating with their “feet”, “kidneys”, “chest” and “head”, forming a habitable place with the beauty of an ephemeral, fragile and unstable construction.

项目团队通过电线装置与周边的树木固定在了一起,从而增加了整个装置的稳定性,同时能够最大程度地减少由风力造成的不必要的位移。此外,项目团队还在装置中安装了一系列聚光灯和由土工布织物制成的顶篷,营造出一种温馨舒适的氛围、一个人造的有机绿洲;只有能够欣赏怪异而易碎的美的人,才能够真正懂得、真正享受这个装置。在本项目中,项目团队将聚丙烯变成了一种“砖”, 对他们来说,这种对建筑材料的实验性探索是一次不可多得的机会和体验。
Through wires we have braced the whole to the surrounding trees, finally managing to limit the movements produced by the push of the wind. The installation of spotlights and covers made of geotextile fabric managed to create a cozy atmosphere, an artificial and organic oasis; an irregular shapeless cloud that has trapped the assistants who have used it without understanding very well what this artifact of strange and fragile beauty was. For us it has been an incredible opportunity to experience how a piece of polypropylene could become a “brick” with which to build an experimental architecture. A flower whose ephemeral beauty lasted only 2 days.
