5000枚LED二极管如同星星点点的像素，悬挂在博物馆盘旋而上的古老梯间之内。远远看去，这个量身定制的艺术装置形成了一个明亮的圆形，一半悬浮于一层的入口大厅之上，另一半微微探出二层楼板，而只有沿着楼梯拾阶而上的人们，才能一睹它的全貌。而观看者的移动仿佛也赋予了这个均质的网格空间生命，涌现出不断变幻的璀璨星光。
“星光”并不仅仅带来了光明，也让这个楼梯空间重新回到公众视野，取代楼梯，成为博物馆内最重要的交通空间。

Starlight is a site-specific art installation, composed of over 5,000 LED diodes or ‘pixels’. Occupying the double-height, historic stairwell at the core of the museum, the sculpture is a circle in true elevation with the lower half visible from the entrance and lobby, and, the upper part from the café on the 2nd floor. As one ascends the stairs, the form is perceived in its entirety. Designed as an uniform spatial grid, the geometry is activated by the viewer’s movement, causing bursts of star patterns to form as a moiré effect.
Our ambition was not merely to provide light, but to create a place for public gathering by encouraging visitors to use the monumental circular stair as primary circulation instead of the elevators.
