Appreciation towards OMA for providing the following description:

在里尔，任何新的建筑介入都必须同时回应过去、现在与未来。在沃邦（Vauban）昔日要塞的用地上尤其如此——里尔一直把这里当作一片可以在不破坏城市的前提下组织现代性的区域。

Any new architectural addition to the city of Lille has to address the past, the present and the future. That is even more true on the site of Vauban’s former fortifications – used in Lille as a zone where modernity can be organized without damaging the city.

新法院的选址正是这片城市景观的缩影：一片被高速公路（未来的林荫大道）穿越的绿色景观，充满户外活动，仍留有沃邦几何体系的隐约痕迹。这一场地条件催生了我们的设计：一座多彩的多面体建筑，能够回应来自过去与当代世界的各种线索与元素。

The location for the new courthouse is emblematic for this urban landscape: a green landscape crossed by motorways (future boulevards), rich in open air activity, with faint traces of Vauban’s geometry. This condition has triggered our project: a colorful multifaceted object that is able to address any number of different clues and elements from the past and the contemporary world.

建筑由三个清晰分明的体量组织而成。公众可进入的基座容纳入口、主大厅（salle des pas perdus）和主要法庭；一座三角形中央塔楼从基座上升起，容纳次要法庭；一个多面切削的办公环悬浮于塔楼周围，让自然光深入建筑内部。

The building is organized around three clearly articulated volumes. A publicly accessible base accommodates the entrance, the main hall (salle des pas perdus) and the major courtrooms. A triangular central tower rising from this plinth contains the minor courtrooms. A faceted ring of offices floats around it, allowing natural light to penetrate deep into the building.

室内设计旨在让司法程序变得可接近、易理解，以一个对公众、司法人员与工作人员都同样友好的环境，取代传统法院建筑的纪念性。建筑的三个组成部分各自通过独特的材料表达与空间性格加以区分，强化了整座建筑群的清晰度与方向感。

The interiors have been conceived to make the procedures of justice accessible and legible, replacing the traditional monumentality of courthouse design with an environment that is welcoming to the public, judiciary and staff alike. Each of the building’s three components is distinguished through its own material expression and spatial character, reinforcing clarity and orientation throughout the complex.

户外空间设计提升了场地品质，降低建筑对环境的影响，并为生态系统的长期保护提供必要的延展与延续。绿地分布在三个标高上：地面层的公共广场、覆盖基座的“乡村花园”，以及俯瞰里尔的屋顶花园。

The outdoor spaces enhance the site’s qualities, limiting the building’s impact on the environment and providing extensions and continuities necessary for the long-term preservation of the ecosystem. Green space is distributed across three levels: a public plaza at ground level, a ‘country garden’ covering the base, and a roof garden overlooking Lille.

里尔新法院延续了 OMA 与里尔的长期渊源——继 1989 年 Euralille 总体规划和 1994 年 Congrexpo / 里尔大展宫之后——标志着这座城市市民与建筑发展的新篇章。

The Palais de Justice de Lille continues OMA’s longstanding relationship with Lille, following the Euralille masterplan (1989) and Congrexpo / Lille Grand Palais (1994), and marks a new chapter in the city’s civic and architectural development.
