设计师Lance McGregor从小就喜欢“打碎小猪存钱罐”去看看里面有什么宝贝。Nest真正体现了“没有牺牲就没有收获”的道理：一旦将东西塞进去，就只能打碎它的陶瓷外壳才能取得出来。它的金属底座可以被当成一个临时的锤子，帮你一探其中究竟。Nest是对传统小猪存钱罐的一次小小的致敬。

Since he was a kid, designer Lance McGregor loved the idea of ‘breaking the piggy bank’ to see what rewards lie within. Nest truly embodies the paradox of “no reward without sacrifice”; once filled, its porcelain exterior must be smashed to reap the benefits inside. It’s metal base doubles as a makeshift hammer to reveal an unexpected whimsy within: a miniature homage to the traditional piggy bank.

Nest was created by Lance McGregor, a NJ-based designer whose premiere design for OTHR—the Bubble Ball & Wand in 3D printed porcelain & 14K plated gold—launched back in January. With a career spanning twenty years and three continents, Lance McGregor worked with design luminaries Tom Dixon, Matthew Hilton and Fabien Baron before founding his studio, McGregor & McGregor in 2009. Born in Tauranga, New Zealand and now based in Montclair, New Jersey, McGregor combines glass, metal, stone and marble for textural, minimal pieces imbued with a sense of whimsy.
