事务所设计了一个“街头风格”的图书馆，旨在为市民和城市开放。建筑物中心的“街道式”走廊将建筑空间与城市住宅融为一体，表达了将图书馆中的“街道”与守山市的街道互相连接的愿望。

We designed a “street-style” library with a focus on making it open to the city and its people. There are a number of sections along the “street-like” corridor in the center of the building that blend in with the dwellings in the city. This represented an attempt to connect the “street” in the library with the streets in the city of Moriyama.

沿“街道”的墙壁由滋贺县当地种植的雪松面板覆盖制作，让人感觉彷佛是在森林里面漫步一般，阳光从建筑物上方投下，人们在这里邂逅各种人和书籍，发现新事物。

The walls along the “street” are covered with panels made from cedar grown in this prefecture, making it feel like taking a walk in the woods where sunlight filters down from above, and you encounter books and people in the perfect place to learn new things.
