The Instruction

我接到的任务很简单，为某知名汽车品牌搭建一个汽车迷宫，能够展示他家新款车的自动驾驶辅助系统的优越性。

The simple task that I received was to build a car maze for a car company to show the superiority of their new car’s automated driving assistance system.

我选取林荫大道，隧道，街道，广场，水池，建筑立面，城墙和教堂作为基本类型加以组合创造一个微型城市作为迷宫。

I used elements of a city, boulevards, tunnels, squares, water, building facades, street walls, and church, to create a miniature city as the maze.

对偶
Duality

相对所有真实的城市，这个瞬时仙宫作为下句应该是纯粹洁净的。所以这个微型城市的基调是白色，除了蓝色水池，绿树和黑色隧道以及占据显要位置的黄色教堂。

A city at first glance is a complex organ made from twists and turns. But its conception and growth is based along an underlying order. To emphasize this order, the skin of this micro-city was white. The blue pools, green trees, black tunnel, and yellow church were made from pure colors. The church spire becomes the central landmark of the city and adds a layer of fantasy to the setting.

象征意义
Symbolism

维京人的一个徽章引起我注意，它能帮助水手无惧暴风雨而能安全回家。我决定用圆形创造这个迷宫，结果它更像北欧神话仙宫asgard了。

One of the Vikings’ emblem caught my attention, it helped sailors confidently navigate home in storms. I decided to use this emblem to create this labyrinth. In the end, it was more like a map of Asgard from Norse folklore.

建造
The Construction

为了快捷地建造，我们和施工队讨论下来决定用轻钢龙骨加KT板，这样还省了白漆。担心那几日上海风大，工头建议把原设计的4米高墙体降到了2.2米。也是工头建议用硫酸铜把水池染成蓝色的，12小时拍摄后拆除。

In order to erect this micro-city as soon as possible, we agreed with the construction team that a lightweight steel frame and KT boards were best. It had the additional benefit of saving white paint. Considering the strong winds during the scheduled days of construction, the foreman suggested to lower the design’s original 4 meters walls down to 2.2 meters. The foreman also recommended to use Copper Sulfate to dye the pool a stronger hue of blue. After filming, the city was removed.

伟大的工人 
Great Workers

120个工人，两天两夜搭建，期间经历了大风摧毁一半工程而成。

The micro-city would not have been built without the help of 120 workers. They worked for two days and two nights. There was a single setback when strong winds destroyed half the city.

极品飞车
Need for Speed

嘉宾四万大叔在熟悉了迷宫的道路后带着我飙车，所有的不利都变成激发驾驶员展示绝佳技术的机会。我真实感受到了极品飞车的快感。汽车利用迷宫展示了我本没意识到的可能性，迷宫也激发了车手更淋漓尽致地发挥汽车的技术特点。这是意料之外的惊喜。我闻着轮胎的焦味，不由得想到，许多精心设计的梦想都没完成，但一个临时起意的摆拍确真正取悦了自己。

After an initial test run through the course the guest driver with the help of the car’s innovative technology was able to display his clear aptitude for driving. I felt the pleasure of Need for Speed while racing through the micro-city. The micro-city itself revealed the innate potentials of this car. This was an unexpected surprise. I smelled the burnt rubber of the tires and couldn’t help but imagine the sorts of automotive innovations that the future may hold and the thrills that they would bring. After returning to the present, I savored the adrenaline that stilled flowed through me. It was truly a remarkable experience.
