BLANKETS

 

国际艺术家SpY的运动装置“Blankets”以独特的方式将现实生活的元素与运动、光线与声音相结合。

The kinetic installation “Blankets” by international artist SpY makes use of real-life elements to work with movement, light and sound in unique ways.

这件艺术作品由数百条应急毯组成，它们不断运动，就像一场持续的舞蹈。这种运动贯穿整个作品，形成了不断变化的起伏图案，并制造出庄严的声场，令人联想到遥远的海洋深处。

The artwork is made up of hundreds of emergency blankets moving to an ongoing choreography. This shifting generates varying undulation patterns across the piece, as well as a solemn sound field evoking a distant ocean.

与 SpY 最知名的那些项目一样，“Blankets”以现实生活中的物品作为雕塑元素。艺术家对这些通常具有象征性内涵的物品进行大幅度重构，从而颠覆其意义和人们的预期。

In line with some of SpY’s most celebrated projects, “Blankets” makes use of real-life objects as sculptural elements. The artist drastically reframes these objects –often loaded with symbolic connotations– to subvert expectations and meanings.

“Blankets”提供的是一种流动的视觉体验，艺术品的外观时刻变化。除了形状的改变之外，作品的巨大规模吸引着参观者从各异的视角来欣赏它，在这些不同的视角中可以看到毯子金色或银色的一面。

“Blankets” offers a fluid visual experience in which the artwork never looks the same. In addition to its shifting shape, the scale of the piece invites visitors to view it from contrasting perspectives, from which either the golden or silver sides of the blankets are visible.

这件纪念碑式的装置作品目前正在中国成都时代美术馆主厅展出，作为 “瞬息涌现”展览的一部分。

This monumental installation is currently on view at the main hall of the Times Art Museum in Chengdu, China, as part of the exhibition “瞬息涌现 A Momentary Spring.”

ZEROS

 

“ZEROS”是一件大型运动装置，由九个巨大的缓慢运动的充气环形管构成。这件艺术作品占据了展览空间的绝大部分，使渺小的参观者蜷缩在拘束的视角和动态的图案当中。

ZEROS is a large-scale kinetic sculpture formed by nine massive inner tubes that move to a slow choreography. The artwork occupies a large part of the exhibition space, dwarfing visitors into constrained viewpoints and navigation patterns.

作品庄严的运动让人联想到巨大生物的意象，在黑色的形体与尖锐的红光构成的强烈对比下，它在视觉和空间体验上沉重地蠕动着。

The solemn movements of the piece evoke the image of an enormous animal that shifts ponderously, in a visual and spatial experience dominated by the intense contrast of the black shapes against the hard red light.

这件的雕塑作品是SpY首次接受时代美术馆的委托。该作品作为 “瞬息涌现 “展览的一部分，安装在中国北京时代美术馆的主厅。

This monumental sculpture marks SpY’s first commission for an Asian museum. The work is installed at the main hall of the Times Art Museum in Beijing, China, as part of the exhibition “Wavelength, a Momentary Spring”.
