Appreciation towards Thomas Jackson for providing the following description:

艺术家Thomas Jackson的“悬浮的瞬间”系列作品于2011年开始创作。他运用落叶，垃圾，杯子，芝士球，施工网，发光项链，呼啦圈和气球等创作此作品。他在不同的自然场景中例如石滩，群山，草原和沙漠中将这些物体拼接成一个个不同的装置随后记录下来。这些动感的装置随即定格在画面中：有的聚集在一起，有的飞向远方。

Artist Thomas Jackson’s work “Emergent Behavior” start from 2011. He used fallen leaves, junks, hundreds of cups, cheese balls, construction fences, glow necklaces, hula hoops, and balloons constructed the project.He assembles these objects on different nature scenes including pebble beach, mountains, grasslands, deserts then photographs the installations. All those dynamic installations caught up in restless movement: gathering cups, flying fences,etc.

生动的人工物体瞬间静止于平静广袤的自然景象中，Thomas Jackson成功的表达了人工与自然的对比同时在一定程度上使两者紧密相连。艺术家试图将照片拍摄出数码合成的效果，但实际上他并没有运用任何数码编软件去处理这些静止的画面。照片中成群的物体是那么的鲜艳，丰富，俏皮和动感，他用人造物件表达了动物般的艺术直觉。

Animate and unnatural objects suddenly freeze on a peaceful nature scene, by doing that Thomas Jackson’s successfully make a contrast between artificial and natural as well as bridge the gap. He intent to make images looking like digital composites , but the joke here is he created the tableaux without any assist from digital editing. The flocks in Jackson’s pictures are so colourful, cheeky and vibrant, so artificial and yet so full of apparent animal instinct.

“悬浮”系列作品将于11月18日至12月23日在波士顿Miller Yezerski画廊展出。

“Emergent Behavior” will open at the Miller Yezerski Gallery, in Boston, on November 18th, and will be on display through December 23rd.
