2016年推出的装置艺术展览“异人异景” 由crossboundaries主办，隶属于由北京天街集团与北京市建筑设计研究院联合发起的前门东区草厂胡同系列集群展览“真实存在”。

‘I was here’, which opened in 2016, is Crossboundaries contribution to a larger series of installations in the Caochang Hutong area, ‘Real Existence’.

“异人异景”以镜面飘带为媒介，配以三个装置艺术，强调人对家的情感，表达人、空间、时间三者相互影响的关系。不同的访客，对空间的体验，尤其是对三个装置的体验大相径庭。胡同里的生活方式，在过去，因资源匮乏，居民被动的将私有空间公共化；而现在，随着生活水平提高，追求私密与占有的认知逐渐增强；在未来，社区中的居住空间可能衍变为一个多功能的交流和沟通平台，具备流动性和多元性，居民将主动分享公共空间及资源。

‘I was here’ focuses on your relationship with ‘home’, emphasizing the interaction of people, space and time. Devised as an immersive exploration within a courtyard house where no one person will have the same experience. In the past, hutong court yard houses shared some spaces of ‘home’ out of necessity. Today people urge for more defined private spaces. In the near future the need for more agile homes will lead to actively shared living spaces.

“异人异景”旨在让访客体会在未来居住空间中的位置和角色，并引发自省的思考。在镜面飘带中，访客可以体验到被模糊的空间边界，感受到被重新定义的私密和公共空间关系。三个主题装置，“觅”“牵”以及“叠”，带给访客三种不同体验。“觅”：人随着自身的变动感受到空间的变化和灵活性。“牵”：人的行动可以改变所处的空间环境，人与空间相互牵引。“叠”：随着时间的积累，感受空间产生的叠加变化。

‘I was here’ challenges you to make the space your own and reflect on your place and role in this living space, led by a mirrored path that blurs boundaries and redefines private and public space. It introduces three themes – ‘find’, ‘attract’ and ‘layer’ – to guide you through the experience. Find: Your place in the given environment. Attract: How you influence the space. Layer: The accumulative memory you leave.

“异人异景”的场地，草厂五条28号院，曾在2015年由天街集团与北京建院联合发起的草厂四条五条胡同的四合院翻新工程中，由Crossboundaries负责设计改造。成功改造后的院落被选入2016北京国际设计周前门东区分会场“真实存在”展览的六个展场之一，而Crossboundaries则受邀负责展览内容的创意设计和实施。

‘I was here’ follows the earlier renovation of this courtyard by Crossboundaries, part of a greater programme in the 4th and 5th Caochang Hutong area initiated by Beijing Institute of Architectural Design (BIAD). Crossboundaries, having successfully completed the renovation, were selected as one of 6 studios for this exhibition ‘Real Existence’, sponsored by Tianjie Group and BIAD as part of Beijing Design Week 2016.
