Appreciation towards WATER TEAM DESIGN for providing the following description:

我一直很喜欢《庄子·齐物论》里的一句话：“万世之后而一遇大圣，知其解者，是旦暮遇之也。”这句话并不难懂，但专家的解释仍各有分歧，不过我想名字，只取其一。我的解读是：哪怕历经万世，后世一定会有知其解者，这样的人出现，就像黑夜遇见白天、月亮遇见星辰……
我觉得这里有一种笃定与快慰，而且带有古今辉映的那种笃定与快慰。
——站在古人的角度，无论如何，信有后人；站在后人的角度，谁说此刻当下，我没有与古人妙契于心？我又想起了陆机，他在《文赋》里写道：“观古今于须臾，抚四海于一瞬。”
当古今在须臾之间连通，那一刻，又有谁说不是庄子的“旦暮遇之”？这是一种怎样的相遇？是不期之遇，但终究是一种期而遇——无论古今、无论四海，终将相遇。如果用“其”来做一种指代，与其相遇，然后发生；我想，我找到了：“与其後。”
如果说庄子讲述了一个等待的故事，我想讲的，是等待之后的故事。

I have always liked a line from Zhuangzi’s “Qi Wu Lun”: “After ten thousand lifetimes, a great saint will come once again, and those who know his solution will meet him at dusk.” This line is not difficult to understand, but experts still have different interpretations, but I think I will only choose one name. My interpretation is that even after going through countless lifetimes, there will always be those who know the solution. Such people will appear, just like the night meets the day, the moon meets the stars
I think there is a sense of certainty and comfort here, with a blend of ancient and modern brilliance.

我们在做商业空间设计往往谈到最多的是策略，如何商业最大化，以及功用主义为原则。但这次空间跟以往经验不同，无用大于功用。业主原打算公司内部产品拍摄实验场景的延伸，施工过程中不断调整策略，到最后完成的一刻，我们还未给与空间真正定义，与其说它是买手店、艺术空间亦私人艺术会客厅都不足表达，我更想说它还未完成。正如谢先生之言等待在这里发生的故事，同样等待未知的未来。

When we are designing commercial spaces, we often talk about strategies, how to maximize business, and utilitarianism as principles. But this time the space is different from previous experiences, useless rather than useful. The owner originally planned to extend the internal product shooting experiment scene of the company, and constantly adjusted the strategy during the construction process. At the final moment of completion, we had not given a true definition of the space. Rather than saying that it was not enough to express itself as a buyer’s shop, art space, or private art reception room, I would rather say that it was not yet completed. As Mr. Xie said, waiting for the story to happen here is also waiting for the unknown future.

我喜欢未完成的状态，可以有调整容错。就像艺术家完成作品的那一刻，就失去作品本身的意义，跟生命直达死亡一样无趣。

I like the unfinished state, which allows for adjustment and fault tolerance. Just like the moment an artist completes a work, losing the meaning of the work itself, it is as boring as life leading directly to death.

探索是生命存在的意义最大化，这个空间是业主在当下自我探索的阶段性呈现。人不能仅有欲望，需要理想，更需要热爱。热爱的定义-我想是在欲望实现过程中加上时间的线索。

Exploration is the maximization of the meaning of life’s existence, and this space is a phased presentation of the owner’s self exploration in the present. People cannot only have desires, they need ideals, and more importantly, they need love. The definition of love – I think it is adding the clue of time to the process of desire realization.

我们在不足150平的空间搭建了三维场域，入口圆形黑色玄关处仅有一盏微光燃起内心的希望，光影照耀着钢板建构的空间名牌ANDWITHEN，正如A SPACE FOR…..是时间凝固的书页打开时间的未知故事。黑色圆环设置两道暗门，向左走是理想，向右走是便是生活。开门进入是一个工业化建构的方式，全裸露钢结构带来力量感，这与我们收集旧粮仓梁木结构的建造方式产生鲜明对比，一新一旧，亦新亦旧。顺着旋转钢梯通向夹层精神内核的小世界-”一间室” 。昏暗的空间贴着窗纸的微光，瞬间得到安静的氛围。水丁集希望在空间的延续上设计一些有趣的家具，也是我们一直在探索空间家具化延伸的又次尝试。

We built a three-dimensional field in a space of less than 150 square meters, and at the circular black entrance, there was only a faint light igniting hope in our hearts. The light and shadow shone on the steel plate constructed space brand ANDWITHEN, just like A SPACE FOR It is a book page frozen in time, opening an unknown story of time. The black ring is equipped with two hidden doors. Walking to the left is ideal, and walking to the right is life. Opening the door to enter is an industrialized construction method, with a fully exposed steel structure that brings a sense of strength, which is in stark contrast to the construction method of collecting old grain silo beams and wooden structures. It is both new and old. Follow the rotating steel ladder to the small world of the spiritual core in the mezzanine – ‘Room One’. The dim space is adorned with the faint light of window paper, instantly creating a peaceful atmosphere. We hopes to design some interesting furniture in the continuation of space, which is another attempt we have been exploring the extension of spatial furniture.

水丁集一直研究对不同材料组合的质感呈现，形成空间特有张力，空间除了建构基本功能及形态，材料质感表达是对空间情绪及记忆的一次旅行。我们选择砾晶石为墙地一体材质，隐射空间基调的粗粒感，与回收的旧厂房梁结构产生对撞。与住宅部分的空间分割借鉴了建筑廊道阵列式墙柱的立面呈现，同时兼顾私密与隔音效果。平面维度最有趣的是不同界面的开合，各种材质及比例的门是希望未来在空间应用的场景适应可变性。

We has always been skilled in combining different material textures to create unique spatial tension. In addition to constructing basic functions and forms, the expression of material textures is a journey towards spatial emotions and memories. We chose gravel crystal as the integrated material for the wall and floor, which reflects the coarse-grained texture of the hidden space and collides with the recycled old factory building beam structure. The spatial division of the residential area draws inspiration from the facade presentation of the architectural corridor array wall columns, while also considering privacy and sound insulation effects. The most interesting aspect of the planar dimension is the opening and closing of different interfaces, with doors of various materials and proportions designed to adapt to variability in future spatial applications.

每一个触碰到的地方是细节置入的最佳方式，我们不放过任何可到达的地方。从富有时间质感的门把手到各台阶踏步原石，以及链接老梁的定制钢构件，让物与物之间产生间隙，恰在间隙之间丰富空间的时间质感。

Every touchpoint is the best way to incorporate details, and we don’t miss any reachable places. From the door handles with a sense of time to the raw stones of each step, as well as the customized steel components connecting the old beams, create gaps between objects, enriching the temporal texture of the space between them.

从wemarch公司办公总部到谢先生与书房，再今日“未完成”的艺术空间andwithen 与其後，正是时间上的线索。在下一篇章的住宅部分，是探索创意工作者职住一体新的生活方式。我们一起期待在这里之后发生的故事，有趣的生命价值将在有趣的空间里延展时间。

From the office headquarters of Wemarch company to Mr. Xie and his study, and then to today’s “unfinished” art space and within, it is the clue in terms of time. In the residential section of the next chapter, we will explore a new way of life for creative workers that integrates work and residence.
