凌驾于时间法则之上的永恒之城——罗马，交融着古罗马、中世纪、文艺复兴、宗教改革以至近代的多维世界。积叠的异质文化在对立关系中彼此需求，建立出自体世界的新秩序。

在不断地重组、并蓄、消融、对话与碰撞中，罗马无尽连接新时空，生长出丰富而开放性的城市形态。当我们将“保持动态关系的同时，创造出信息的发信源”作为生命的新定义时，罗马的永恒也许正是来源这种原始张力。

Rome, the eternal city above the law of time, blends the multidimensional world of ancient Rome, the middle ages, the Renaissance, religious reform and even modern times. The overlapping heterogeneous cultures demand each other in the opposite relationship and establish a new order of their own world.

In the process of continuous reorganization, merging, melting, dialogue and collision, Rome has inexhaustibly connected new time and space，and grown rich and open urban morphology. When we take “creating the source of information while maintaining dynamic relations”as the new definition of life, the eternity of Rome comes from the original tension of life.

在1956年的广东，一个由几十人组成的甘蔗糖厂，基于对废弃原料的再利用，逐渐发展成增城造纸厂。与罗马大相径庭，这个半世纪前的工业区在时代的洪流中虎口残生，所留下的历史痕迹寥寥可数。这便是1978电影小镇的前身。

In Guangdong in 1956, a sugar cane factory composed of dozens of people gradually developed into Zengcheng Paper Mill based on the reuse of waste raw materials. Quite different from Rome, this industrial park half a century ago survived in the torrent of the times, leaving few historical traces. This is the predecessor of the 1978 Movie Town.

LAD（里德）设计事务所于2015年开始对1978电影小镇进行整体规划与改造，2021年，The Pond作为艺术酒店不仅丰满了小镇业态，也是回应这片被集体记忆与共同情感灌注过的土壤，回应静默增江，回应时间之河。

LAD Design Office began the overall planning and transformation of the 1978 Movie Town in 2015. In 2021, The Pond, as an art hotel, not only enriched the business format of the town, but also responded to the soil filled with collective memory and common emotion, and responded to the silent Zengjiang River and the river of time.

建立新秩序
ESTABLISH A NEW ORDER
回应土壤/交流/无穷的空间延续/整体意义
Response to Soil / Communication / Infinite Spatial Continuity / Overall Significance

很大程度上，The Pond的构想是源于这个场所的初始感受，再进一步建立“新秩序”，从而打开封闭场景，采取对话现代的姿态。最终建筑呈现开放的交流状态，使得空间好像可以无限延续下去。

To a large extent, The Pond‘s initial idea is derived from the original feeling of this site, and then further establish a“New Order”, open a closed scene and dialogue with modern.

The Pond将会所、别墅、餐厅、布草间交流而独立其中。以功能先行的建筑空间，更需要重墨于历史、文化、风貌、生活以及情感的安置。新秩序的架构如乐章的旋律、和声、节奏，是构成的音乐织体的完整部件，也是支配整体意义的实质内容。

In The Pond, clubhouse, villas, restaurant and linen room communicate with each other and are independent. The function oriented architectural space needs to pay more attention to the placement of history, culture, style, life and emotion. The structure of the new order, such as melody, harmony and rhythm, is not only the complete component of the music fabric, but also the entity that dominates the overall significance.

崭新的功能与旧日情景交织，模糊的历史感暧昧虚实，拙朴与极致分别呼应着过去与现在。
生命的生长性是建筑进一步“进化”的结果，新旧冲突支撑出更加稳固的依存关系，1+1>2开始发酵。

如回音壁般发出微妙的、丰富质感的回响。

The new function is interwoven with the old scene, the vague sense of history is ambiguous, emptiness and reality, simplicity and perfection echo the past and present respectively.
The Pond conveys the growth of life, which is the result of the further “evolution”of architecture. The old and new conflicts support a more stable dependence, 1+1>2, so that it ferments to infinity.

Like an echo wall, it gives a subtle and rich echo.

靠近The Pond，对自然的亲近覆没了对现代物质的慕尚。开放性的“合十”形制兼有不明确的未来性，明确地给予了一条拾级而上的窄廊，仿佛只欢迎只身行进。

缓行步入沉静，除你之外并无他物。不传递，只引导。人与物皆进入最本真的状态，赘物抛置脑后。从此进入The Pond。

Close to The Pond, the closeness to nature has drowned the admiration for modern materials. The open form of “palms together in prayer” and unclear futurity clearly give a corridor to rise up.

Walk slowly into silence. There is nothing but you. No delivery,only guide. People and things are in the most authentic state, and extra things are left behind. Enter The Pond from here.

材料并无诗意可言，只有在建筑这一表达途径中才能得到意义。材料通过视觉、触觉构成感官体验，开启观者的多角度聚焦——谦逊的静默之美。

Materials are not poetic, and only in architecture can they get meaning. Materials form sensory experience through vision and touch, and open the viewer‘s multi angle focus – the beauty of humility and silence.

卡尔维罗说：“诗人的嗳昧只能来源于诗人的精确。”
用准确的现代设计语言组织内外是作品充分表达的前提。于外部，几何形状有效强化视觉、稳定性与平衡感；于内部，温柔的半透明窗棂勾勒出“流淌”的边界。

Calvino said, “The poet‘s ambiguity can only come from the poet’s accuracy.”
The Pond organizes the inside and outside with accurate modern design language. Externally, the geometric shape effectively strengthens the stability and balance of vision and structure; Inside, gentle translucent windows outline the open boundary.

边界的弱化使空间得以自由呼吸，组织关系连续而舒适，如国画中留白营造的空间感。借景自然，抑或是借景人与物，皆有生动气韵。

The weakening of the boundary enables the space to breathe freely, and the organizational relationship is continuous and comfortable, such as the sense of fluidity created by blank space in traditional Chinese painting. Borrow scenery from nature, or borrow scenery from people and things, all of which have a vivid atmosphere.

如天然生长
GROW LIKE NATURE
自然颂歌/营造与消除/平凡/轮回/生生不息
Ode to Nature/Creation and Elimination/Ordinariness/Reincarnation/ Circle of Life

阳光投射在旧蓄水池的顶层，穿透新注之水，最终以光纹的形式游弋在内部空间里，再微微反射在人的脸颊。在完成这首自然颂歌的同时，也仿若书写轮回的剧本。

The sun shines on the top layer of the old reservoir, penetrates the newly injected water, and finally wanders in the internal space in the form of light lines, and then slightly reflecting on people‘s faces. While completing this natural ode, it is also like another cycle of history.

光影与气息精心营造出别具一格的生活图景，而进一步借增江观望The Pond，却不难发现设计师意图将精心创造的人工设计感消除，让它成为平凡自然事物的一部分，让建筑与环境一体，如天然生长。

它可以从自然世界及其生物形式、生长过程中汲取营养，得到自体的生命力，生生不息。

Light, shadow and breath carefully create a unique picture of life,and further look at The Pond through the Zengjiang River, it is not difficult to find that the designer intends to eliminate the carefully created sense of artificial design, make it a part of ordinary natural things, and integrate the building with the environment, such as natural growth.

It can draw nutrition from the natural world, its biological forms and growth process, get its own vitality and live forever.

近于禅与未来性的糅合
CLOSE TO THE BLENDING OF ZEN AND FUTURITY
明镜非台/亲近自然/本真/宇宙一体
Nor‘s There Mirror Nor It’s Stand /Close to Nature /Authenticity /Cosmic Unity

允许情感显现，犹如允许日异月新；允许流逝，犹如允许驻留。

事物由于感官的敏锐而陌生，目及砂石窗棱，回溯从属与分离，体验被过往与未来的景象充实。

Allowing emotions to manifest is like allowing them to change with each passing day; Allowing to pass is like allowing to stay.

Things are strange because of their keen senses. The eyes reach the sand and stone red brick window, trace back the subordination and separation, and the experience is enriched by the past and the future.

外部世界被印记在空间里，空间也投射出外部世界。人、自然、建筑同为一体，日月星辰亦是人类心中丘壑的点点耀光。

The external world is imprinted in architecture, and architecture also projects the external world. Man, nature,and architecture are integrated. The sun, moon and stars are also the bright spots of the gullies in people‘s hearts.

罗马抑或是The Pond，旧日土石皆在新秩序中延续过去。相对于生物生命，空间的生命更为永恒而平等。历史的重叠使人们探索关于时空、静谧、流动以及和煦的真相。

Rome or The Pond, the old soil-stone continue the past and echo the present in the new order. Compared with biological life, space life is more eternal and equal. The overlap of history makes people explore the truth about time and space, tranquility, flow, and warmth.

“或许，诗正是未曾预料的真实。它居于沉静之中。建筑的艺术使命正是要给这种沉静的期待带来一种形式。”（卒姆托）

“Perhaps poetry is the unexpected truth. It lives in silence. The artistic mission of architecture is to bring a form to this quiet expectation (Zumthor).

而“当下”也将成为未来的历史。
突然之间，它既不是过去也不是未来了。

‘present’ is a flowing history.
Suddenly, it is neither the past nor the future.
