“蘑菇”是香港大学建筑硕士课程”压力之下”课题的最新研究成果——一座以空气为媒介构筑的伞状混凝土建筑原型。该项目通过创新模板设计拓展混凝土建造的可能性,其主体结构采用轻质充气模板与混凝土浇筑结合的工艺体系,成功实现了多重建筑辩证关系的融合:既呈现混凝土的厚重质感又保持结构轻盈,既展现主动张力又承载巨大压力,在传统工艺与创新技术之间构建出独特的对话关系。

The Mushroom is a recently completed umbrella prototype exploring different means of building with concrete through formwork design, predominantly made of lightweight inflatables. Building with air is the focus of the design-research taught in a Master of Architecture program at the University of Hong Kong, further exploring the productive dichotomy between light and heavy, subtractive and additive methods, void and solid space, active tension and pressure, tradition and innovation in constructed architecture.

作为”压力之下”课题的核心技术突破,该原型开发出经济可持续的混凝土浇筑新工法:利用充气压力容器抵御液态混凝土的流体静压。

The design studio, titled ‘Under Pressure’, focuses on prototyping economical and sustainable building techniques for concrete casting that are largely made of pressurized air vessels to ultimately resist the hefty liquid pressure of concrete during the casting process.

建筑模板由多组异形充气气囊构成,通过精准控制气囊的负空间造型,使浇筑成型的混凝土表面呈现出巴洛克建筑”剖碎空间”般的流动肌理。这种创新工艺重新诠释了建筑实体与过渡空间的关系,将动态力量可视化于凝固的混凝土形态之中。

The formwork itself consists mainly of a constellation of differently sized balloons in-between and above which the concrete material is poured, in the leftover gaps formed between the inflatables. The emerging concrete effect generated by the negative space of the formwork and the curvature of the inflated balls reinstates a desire for a fluid and varied mass quality in architecture, largely rooted in the Baroque movement via the notion of poche space; the interstitial solid mass between rooms. This novel built prototype, serving both as test and proof of concept, was an essential step for a more ambitious architecture project soon to be realized. The prototype would have been impossible without the direct engagement and proactive collaboration with our industry partners; inflatable and precast factories.

该项目构建了产学研协同创新的典范,通过与粤港澳大湾区两家专业制造商(充气结构工程公司与预制构件工厂)的深度协作,充分整合了工业化生产设施的技术优势。研发过程突破了传统建造技术的边界,在压力与重力的动态平衡中开辟出建筑原型实验的新维度,既验证了设计概念的技术可行性,也为后续规模化应用奠定了坚实基础。

Working closely with these large-scale industrial facilities and plants of sheer mass-production, both located in the Greater Bay Area in China, offers unique resources and still much untapped potential for future innovation in construction.
