荷兰Studio PS创作的TAPED是一个拥有26款色彩的陶瓷杯集合。和大多数注重造型和视觉的设计不同，TAPED专注于触觉，以及色彩细微的差别。设计师期望创造一个简单，却不平凡到依然可以引人入胜的产品。

TAPED  is a collection porcelain cups made in 26 different colours. The collection has risen from an experiment.  In most products made of ceramics the design is focused on visual appearance by shape and decoration.  In our experiment we have focused on the tactile experience: what happens if you use the “skin” as main focus for the design? We have also researched what colour nuances can add to a collection. The aim was to create a product which can be fascinating within its simplicity and still create an extraordinary experience.

We always aspire to work with surprising elements in our designs. For this product we started with material textures.  We are fascinated by the relief and the characteristic expression of materials. We wanted to add a “ceramic-strange” material as skin. By this we wanted to create a surprising tactile experience. After a large amount of experiments we have chosen wrinkled paper-tape to be the skin of our quite archetype shaped coffee cups.

The shape of the cups is simple in a way, but it has some accents: the circumference is not perfectly rounded and is, just like the skin, different in every single cup. In this way we give every cup its own identity and we emphasise the crafts process of the handmade ceramic production.

The material is high quality porcelain, which supports the tactile experience in different ways. The thermal conductivity of porcelain in combination with the thickness of the material delivers a pleasant temperature when using the product for hot drinks. The outside of the cups is not glazed, which makes sure that every wrinkle of the skin will be felt by the user’s fingertips. The matt-reflection of the porcelain gives the design a durable, elegant appearance.

The starting point was to create a collection with a large colour palette. This palette was created by a large number of colour tests with different pigments. The colours pink, orange, yellow, green and blue were used as basic colours. It was important that all colours could be combined with each other. Within this palette the users can pick their own colours and we want them to join the creative process and combine their own colour collection.

By combining our fascination for material expression, relief and structure with a large colour palette, a surprising and colourful collection has arisen.

设计师潜心研究了一系列材质纹理，最后选用褶皱的纸张纹理作为杯子的“皮肤”原型。每个杯子都有那么些不圆润，也都有那么些自己的个性。高品质；不同触感；导热系数适宜，不烫也不凉；外表不上釉，机理与指尖深入接触；亚光表面，美观大方。有粉红，橙色，黄色，绿色，蓝色5个变化色系，用户可根据自己的需求选择和创建自己的色彩组合。

精选的材料，机理再配上别出心裁的色彩，这系列丰富的杯子真是太赞了！

This is how we describe the collection on our website: TAPED, a collection of handmade porcelain cups. The taped series was inspired by the texture of skin and the tactile feeling and the embossment of materials. Combined with a colour-flow which we have created during the experimental phase, a new colourful  collection has arisen.
