我们是YOY，一家位于东京的设计工作室，正在2024年米兰设计周举办名为“SNOW by YOY”（YOY设计的雪花）的独立展览，在展览中我们正式公布了全新的设计作品“SNOW”（雪花）。场馆位于布雷拉区的画廊，名为Galleria Clio Calvi Rudy Volpi。这是YOY自2012年首次以来，第十次参加米兰设计周。

We YOY, a Tokyo-based design studio are holding a solo exhibition titled “SNOW by YOY” at Milan Design Week 2024 unveiling our brand-new work “SNOW”. The venue is Galleria Clio Calvi Rudy Volpi, a gallery in the Brera district. This will be YOY’s tenth participation in Milan Design Week, counting from its first exhibition in 2012.

SNOW is a series of works including vases and lighting with texture of fallen snow. We mass- produced life-size snow crystal objects using a precise laser cutting machine and attempted to reproduce the texture of fallen snow by accumulating and glueing them with a weather-resistant transparent adhesive.

我们从“全球经典雪花造型”中选取了12个典型形状。参考雪花的实际尺寸，确定直径在3.2mm到6.4mm之间。材质上选用0.2mm厚的软质丙烯酸板。

12 typical shapes were selected from the “Global Classification of snow crystals”. Using the actual sizes of snow crystals as a reference, we set the diameter to 3.2 to 6.4 mm.The material is a soft acrylic sheet 0.2 mm thick.

全球经典雪花造型于2012年通过对全世界范围内的观察所确定。它包含三种类型—常规的、居中的以及单一的——它们分别由8、39和121种类别组成。

The global classification of snow crystals was created in 2012 based on observations from around the world. It consists of three levels – general, intermediate, and elementary – which are composed of 8, 39, and 121categories, respectively.

Snow crystals have been described as “the most beautiful crystals created by nature” due to their exquisite structure and symmetry. In this exhibition a new series of works focusing on snow crystals will be unveiled.
