Appreciation towards Lead Pencil Studio for providing the following description:

这是一个用黑不锈钢棒（50*30*3）构成的雕塑。位于加拿大和美国的边境处，异常突出。

属于美国总务管理局《卓越设计》企划分支中当代艺术的一部分。设计师在3年前接到委托，花了9个月在西雅图制作，然后运到场地中，用两周时间组装。

How we got the contract:

This is part of the US Gov. General Service Administration ” Excellence in Design” program that seeks to incorporate contemporary art on new Federal projects.  This is the branch of the Govt. that constructs new buildings.  The program selects off of a roster and was our first commission for the public environment.

Commission 3 years ago.  Took about 9 months to fabricate in our Seattle shop.  Truck to the site in smaller parts and stitched together over a 2 week period.

Extra Notes:
•     As you approach the border from the either nation,  the freeway is lined with billboards that advertise goods or services to be purchased at Duty Free or otherwise.
•     At the security zone and within the park the commercial advertising gives way to images of flags (in flowers or otherwise), large directional signage or other official customs related signage.
•     By Spring the work will be surrounded by knee-high meadow grass and clover
