这栋住宅名叫波纹住宅，位于距离东京一小时车程的茨城县筑波市。住宅场地俯瞰河堤，春季被樱花掩映。为此，这栋住宅的设计非常重视与樱树的关系。

This residence is located in Tsukuba-Mirai City, Ibaraki Prefecture, about an hour from Tokyo. The riverbank which the site of the house overlooks is among the prominent spots of Ibargi Prefecture, renowned for their cherry blossoms. In designing the house, great importance was attached to its relationship with the flowering trees.

建筑的立面有三个层次的白色外墙。居住内空间十分注重于室外樱花的密切关联。房屋呈凹形，面对河堤樱花一侧开了一个内院，既能观赏樱花景观也为每个房间带来充足照明。

The facade, which consists of three white outer walls, is suggestive of a triple ripple on the surface of the river. It is a house that enables its residents to live closely with the cherry trees, which manifest different expressions with Japan’s changing seasons. Based on the shape of the site, one that stretches in a narrow strip toward the cherry trees, the shape of the house was conceived as a U-shape so that each of its rooms would benefit fully from the light.
