Antti Viitala is a Finnish photographer shooting between Helsinki and Cape Town. The purpose of his global travelling is to shoot on location with available light. He prefers to use the craft of photographers of old. During his travelling, the old craft of photographers is like his partner of great emotional value. Combining the inspiration of the old masters with modern technology, delicate screens can be created.
The details of those photos are emphasized here with great expressiveness. The series of giraffe photos are monochroma with a sense of simple and peace. It focus only on the upper part of the giraffes and if you visualize photos quietly, a force of purification can be felt here. Some moving details are hidden in the photos like beard, horns and even various emotions expressed by different gestures and eye contact. Their long necks cross with each other filling with tenderness.
