Design Concept
规划设计以“归心乐泽,栖水悦城”为理念,从“河道治理、水体利用、生态保护、功能完善”各个环节入手,统筹考虑城市防洪、生态保护、环境提升、景观休闲等城市功能和市民需求,充分融入中水回用、海绵城市、自然涵养等技术理念,努力将“五水绕城”打造成防洪屏障、生态绿道、亲水长廊和城市名片。围绕水安全、水资源、水环境、水生态等多方面的河道生态整治,全面打造河畅、水清、岸绿、景美的“五水绕城”城市风景线。
The design philosophy is centered around “Returning to the Heart, Enjoying the Waters, Delighting in the City.” It strategically addresses “River Channel Management, Water Utilization, Ecological Preservation, and Functional Enhancement,” considering urban flood control, ecological protection, environmental improvement, and the needs of citizens. The aim is to seamlessly integrate concepts like reclaimed water use, sponge cities, and natural conservation, striving to transform “Five Rivers Around the City” into a multi-functional entity: a flood barrier, an ecological greenway, a waterfront corridor, and a city landmark.

Project Location
在青岛市城阳区中心地带有五条城市主要河流:墨水河、虹字河、小北曲河、南疃河、爱民河。这些河流的存在和发展,反映了城阳区丰富的水资源和农业传统,也体现了城阳区的自然景观和人文历史,现如今它们被寄予着城市未来的发展厚望。
项目基地位于青岛市城阳区中心区,包含墨水河、虹字河、爱民河、小北曲河、南疃河共5条过城河道,总长约23.9公里。是城阳“五主九支”水系格局的主要河道,对构建生态、健康的水网系统至关重要。
Chengyang’s central area boasts five main urban rivers: Moshui River, Hongzi River, Xiaobei Qu River, Nantuan River, and Aimin River. These rivers reflect Chengyang’s rich water resources, agricultural traditions, and the natural and cultural heritage of the region. Today, they hold the key to the city’s future development.
The project is situated in Chengyang District’s central area, encompassing five urban rivers – Moshui River, Hongzi River, Aimin River, Xiaobei Qu River, and Nantuan River – with a total length of approximately 23.9 kilometers. These rivers constitute the primary channels in Chengyang’s “five mains, nine branches” water system pattern, playing a crucial role in establishing an ecological and robust water network system for the city.

挑战与目标
Challenges and Objectives
五水绕城作为城阳水系干流,已然成为一条时空线索,串联起诸多记忆碎片,追寻城阳独有的城市气质,见证过去的光辉岁月。但也同样面临着老城区用地匮乏,行洪能力欠缺,交通拥堵等不足与挑战。过去所扮演的角色正在发生转换,在满足行洪功能的同时,也被要求创造出能供市民娱乐休闲的活力空间,促进人与自然的融合。外竞内困之下,如何破局谋划未来城中绿廊以及如何提质升级城区综合质量是本项目面临最为迫切的挑战。
As the main stream of Chengyang’s water system, “Five Rivers Around the City” serves as a timeline, connecting diverse fragments of memories and tracing the distinctive urban temperament of Chengyang. Despite its historical significance, the project faces challenges such as limited land availability in the old urban area, inadequate flood control capacity, and traffic congestion. Its role is evolving, requiring not only flood control capabilities but also the creation of dynamic spaces for citizens’ recreation and leisure. Amid external competition and internal constraints, the project’s most pressing challenges include how to enhance water safety, improve urban green corridor, and optimize the overall urban environment.

因此,设计面临三大挑战:
1)如何保障水安全:“安全+功能”——提高防洪能力,实现安全河道?
2)如何改善水生态:“生态+活力”——生态基底修复,提升河道韧性?
3)如何优化水环境:“便捷+丰富”——构建活力水岸,回归城市生活?
Therefore, the design faces three major challenges:
1) How to ensure water safety: “safety + function” – Enhancing flood control capabilities to achieve secure watercourses?
2) How to improve water ecology: “ecology + vitality” – Ecological base restoration to improve the resilience of rivers ?
3) How to optimize the water environment: “convenient + rich” – Building a vibrant waterfront to return to urban life?

设计策略
Design Strategies
1.提高防洪能力,实现安全河道
1. Enhance flood control capabilities to ensure a secure
项目第一步是重建健康的生态环境系统,通过防洪工程建设,提升河道原有20年一遇防洪标准至50年一遇防洪标准,将原有直立石砌护堤破除,适当开挖河道、增加水域面积。

The project’s initial phase involves rebuilding a healthy ecological environment system. Through flood control engineering, the goal is to elevate the original 20-year flood control standard to a 50-year standard and remove the existing stone embankments. This includes excavating the riverbed and expanding the water surface.

设计尊重场地的原生自然基底,梳理保护现状苗木,优化植物群落,运用乡土植被营造动植物生境,通过生态抗旱技术解决季节性河流带来的旱季水生植物存活率低、生态驳岸较少等问题。
Respecting the site’s natural base, the design preserves existing vegetation, optimizes plant communities, and utilizes local flora to create habitats for animals and plants. Ecological drought-resistant technique is employed to address challenges such as low survival rates of water plants during the dry season and insufficient ecological revetment.

2.生态基底修复,提升河道韧性
2. Restore the ecological foundation to enhance river resilience
设置雨水蓄水池等海绵措施,提高水生态系统的自然修复能力,并采取中水回用手段,敷设管线20余公里,每日补水2.5万立方米,解决北方城市枯水问题,设置拦河坝,为生物提供栖息地。

Implementing sponge measures like rainwater storage tanks enhances the natural restoration capacity of the water ecological system. Reclaimed water is utilized by laying over 20 kilometers of pipelines, supplying 25,000 cubic meters of water daily to resolve water scarcity issues in the northern city. River barriers are introduced to provide habitats for organisms.

3.构建活力水岸,回归城市生活
3. Develop a vibrant waterfront to reconnect with urban life
项目将河道生态恢复和城市景观设计结合,为市民及游客提供公众休闲、交往游憩、运动健身等多种形式的景观功能体系,通过林荫步道、成片绿茵休憩场地、节点空间等综合改造提升。结合人们的各种活动组织空间,合理配置活动场地和配套设施,满足不同人群的多元需求,使场地成为集城市湿地、文化记忆和城市休闲于一体的生态公园。不仅改善了水域的水质,也成为市民喜爱的休闲环境。河滨开放性空间的建造,提升了市民的生活质量,增强了城市活力,最终促进区域经济可持续发展。

The project integrates river ecological restoration with urban landscape design to offer citizens and visitors various landscape functions, including public leisure, social interaction, sports, and fitness. Comprehensive transformations, such as tree-lined trails, extensive green recreation areas, and node spaces, are implemented. Spaces for various activities are organized with suitable facilities, meeting diverse needs and transforming the site into an ecological park combining urban wetlands, cultural memories, and urban leisure. The construction of open riverside spaces enhances residents’ quality of life, boosts urban vitality, and ultimately promotes sustainable regional economic development.

4.演绎现代智慧,激活城市触媒
4. Interpret modern wisdom to activate the urban catalyst
项目为城阳区居民创造了智慧、宜人、充满活力的居住环境,原来破旧僵直的岸线华丽转身成为了社区公园、儿童乐园、健身场所、亲水乐园。全域共设置224处健身娱乐器材,充分展示了“与水为友”的亲近与和谐。孩子们在河畔找到了放肆撒欢的乐园,可以在蜿蜒的栈道上看鱼翔浅底,可以在花林灼灼的绿地中学习海绵知识,可以在科技链接的设施中与水互动,景与人共融,人随景如画。

The project creates a smart, pleasant, and vibrant living environment for Chengyang residents. The once dilapidated shorelines have transformed into community parks, children’s playgrounds, fitness areas, and waterfront amusement parks. A total of 224 fitness and recreational equipment installations are spread throughout, showcasing the friendliness and harmony of being “friends with water.” Children could find a playful paradise by the riverside, observing fish in the shallow waters along winding boardwalks, learning about sponge knowledge in lush green spaces, and interacting with water through technologically connected facilities. The landscape seamlessly integrates with people, creating picturesque scenes.

结语
Conclusion
我们致力于解决由于城区河道硬化沟渠、筑设闸坝等水利工程手段改变的自然水循环;生产生活污水未完全净化排入河流,污染的水环境;河流缺乏活力等现状问题,秉承“生态平衡,与水为友”的理念,呈现一条条充满自然和生活气息的河流。我们希望年轻的能量在这里聚集传递,在轻盈抬升的水岸和绿林间,汇入人们的笑颜。我们希望设计传递更多的是景观与自然的和谐对话,是景观与人的友好互动。但愿所有的美好能在这里发生,归心乐泽,栖水悦城。
The project is dedicated to addressing challenges arising from the urbanization of river channels, dam construction, and other water engineering methods that alter natural water circulation. Our goal is to tackle issues such as untreated industrial and domestic wastewater discharged into rivers, water pollution, and the lack of vitality in rivers. Guided by the philosophy of “ecological balance, friends with water,” we present a series of rivers brimming with natural and life vitality. We hope that the energy of the youth can converge here, uplifting the waterfront and green forests, merging into people’s smiles. We aim to convey through the design a harmonious dialogue between landscapes and nature, and a friendly interaction between landscapes and people. May all the beauty unfold here, bringing joy and happiness back to the city and its waters.
