“Château-Rouge”（红色城堡）系列以巴黎2个主要的非洲人社区（Château-Rouge和Château d’Eau）里的居民为拍摄对象，记录了他们多彩而独特的发型。每张照片都是在街道的“街头摄影棚”里拍摄。

Château-Rouge (Red Castle) is a glimpse into the frenetic and colorful haircuts of Château-Rouge and Château d’Eau, 2 of the main African neighborhoods of Paris. Pictures were shot in the street with a “street studio”.

15 years that I have roamed Paris and its two so-called “African” districts, 15 years that “Château-Rouge” and “Château-d’Eau”, the last bastions of anti-gentrification, remain invulnerable to the erosion of time . Unperturbed, nothing has yet succeeded in eroding their authenticity and their fervor, there are still the same restaurants, the same exotic fruit stalls, the same hairstyle brands, and the same hair extension shops.

One morning, I run into Alyssa, with her long multicolored hair, I stop her to ask her if I can take a picture of her hair, because it reminds me of the hair color of certain Japanese cartoons from my childhood. It also reminds me of 2 worlds that seem to me to be opposed. On the one hand I see a world made of multicolored cyberpunks unicorns and on the other a world of traditional adornments, it is the shock of synthetic extravagance against the naturalness of tradition and I find myself in the space of a moment lost between these two poles. I take a few photos again, and I like it … From then on, my mission becomes clearer: to go in search of new colored settings in the streets of the two largest Parisian Châteaux.
