斯蒂文·霍尔四岁的女儿Io Helene为这件雕塑取名为Obolin。当被问及Obolin的含义时，女孩回答道：“它正是你所想的意思。”

Obolin was named by Steven Holl’s four-year-old daughter Io Helene, who, when asked what Obolin means, replied: “it means exactly what you want it to mean.”

雕塑在几何体上进行切割，挖去的三个球面恰好对应了夏至、冬至正午以及春秋分下午2:00时，阳光穿过哈德逊山谷的位置。

Three cutouts subtracted from spherical geometry mark the exact location of the sun’s vector based on its Hudson Valley location at noon on the Summer and Winter Solstices, and at 2:00 pm on the Equinox.

Obolin雕塑由本地制造的单片50英尺长的CLT薄板层层叠合制成，用7轴机械臂打磨，然后在现场进行组装。

Obolin was locally fabricated from a single, 50 foot long sheet of CLT, stack laminated and milled with a 7-axis robotic arm, and was assembled on site.

Obolin是斯蒂文·霍尔在Art Omi公园展出的第二件雕塑作品。第一件作品One Two Five通过CNC切割一块2100万年前的莱切石（Lecce Stone）而成，自2018年起在Art Omi公园展出，将持续到2020年11月。

Obolin is the second sculpture by Steven Holl to be installed at Art Omi’s Sculpture and Architecture Park. One Two Five, a sculpture cut by CNC from 21-million-year old Lecce was installed at Art Omi in 2018 and will remain on view through November 2020.
