Appreciation towards nendo for providing the following description:
A flower vase with a cherry blossom branch peeking out from within. Peering into the opening, it becomes apparent that the cherry blossom tree is growing out of the wall surface and is in full bloom.
Cherry blossom petals have been affixed to the outer wall of the vase one by one, making it appear as if they were floating away on the wind. Producing such vibrantly expressive details and such an elaborate work within the small space inside required an immense amount of skill. It would not have been possible without the porcelain artisans of Sèvres who have inherited the company’s over 275 years of history and tradition.
This work will be shown at nendo solo exhibition “nendo : invisible outlines” in Jil Sander Showroom (Via Luca Beltrami 5 ) on April 4th 10.00-17.00 / April 5th – 8th 10.00-20.00 / April 9th 10.00-18.00
