Appreciation towards WAU Design for providing the following description:

Patio Resto 由WAU建筑工作室设计及经营。

反思深圳快节奏的生活方式，想为忙碌的人们提供一个休闲的空间。庭院的概念来源于象形文字的“休”字，拆分为“人”和“木”，意为人们在树荫下乘凉，享受轻松的时间。从而衍生出“庭院”的处理手法—有意把室内室外的界线模糊，在室内开辟出一个户外感觉的院落空间作为整个用餐空间的视觉焦点，种植上户外果树，让人用餐时候享受到安逸的氛围。

整个餐厅空间的视觉焦点为庭院，庭院空间抬高，为底层就餐区及阁楼艺术沙龙共享空间。庭院周边黑色家具及黑色天花的采用降低了周围环境的明度，庭院纯白墙面搭配白色的家具，及高明度灯照亮这个空间，这样，自然而然的使之成为整个空间中的亮点，形成舞台感觉，植物的点缀使得空间更为生机盎然。

空间渗透借景手法处处体现。入口两层通高，黑色大吊灯提示着上下空间的对话；庭院内高树使得用餐区及二楼艺术沙龙区恍若置身大自然中；包间开窗正对着入口黑色大吊灯。围而不合，隔而不闭，使得空间充满趣味性。

The design concept is originated from the Chinese Hieroglyph “Xiu” （rest），which means people sitting in the shades of a tree, enjoying leisure time. Thus is derived “patio” concept : space with very ambiguous borderlines between inside and outside, creating a space of light as the visual focus of the whole dining space, planting outdoor fruit trees on it, letting people enjoy the cozy atmosphere.

As a spatial centre, it takes the height of two floors, connecting upper and lower part. The bar and dining space are around it in the lower part; in the upper part are set up art gallery and a multifunctional platform, which can be used for playing experimental films, housing artist salon, etc.

It is raised as a stage in order to make a dramatic interlude in the indoor space. Opposing his bright light, pure white and white furniture, to the colors of the dark ground, ceiling and chairs, it creates a strong contrast of intimacy and exposure. Keeping the ruff concrete texture of the outer walls was a way to enhance this contrast.
